Mansfield National Golf Club
About
Mansfield National Golf Club's tees range from 5,263 to 6,850 yards and the course plays to a par 72. The large, undulating greens make for inviting targets. The fairways are lined by every type of tree imaginable, with bunkers looming to suck in tee shots. Scores can add up on holes 11 and 16, with the lake coming into play, but water comes into play on only four holes total. The best hole is no. 5, considered one of the toughest par 3s in north Texas. It plays a very 3-wood-like 233 yards into a tough green that's hard to hold with the wind at your back. Located just south of Arlington Mansfield National also offers FootGolf, a combination of soccer and golf.

A MUST-PLAY COURSE
I thoroughly enjoyed my round here. The staff is wonderful, the food is very good, and the course is challenging and in good shape. I especially enjoyed playing the number-one handicap hole, a 200-yard par three! Overall, an awesome experience, and I can't wait to lay this course again!!
Best course/value in DFW
Good staff, kitchen/clubhouse. Range is decent, practice area is very good.
Tees, fairways are excellent, greens are always perfect. Very fun layout, pace is ok but not too good on weekend afternoons.
You will not find a more amateur friendly stretch of holes than the first 4 here including a very reachable par 5, however you get to #5 and it's very easy to give back any strokes you might've gained, it's a mid to long tee shot that it's almost all carry, relax cause you get another chance to reach the green in two if you are willing to flirt with the bunkers on your right off the tee.
Par 4s are pretty average as far as trouble, flat and short with wide fairways par 3s are short and 3 of the par 5s are very reachable. Fairways are friendly and hardly any trees in your way, I believe only one hole has water, bunkers are going to be in play very little and are a bit tough but because it's hard to keep them in good shape here in North Texas, I like a golf course to look green like this one, rough is average height but very green. Really only 4 holes require some attention, #5, 11, 12 and 15 can play a bit tough if you get careless, other than that you pretty much can see any trouble off the tee if any on the rest of the course.
If you are needing some birdies coming in, #s 16, 17 and 18 are going to be what you want, perfect for scoring, let it fly, play 16 as a three shot green and make your putt, 17th is as easy as it gets, a close approach gets you another bird. A draw off the tee on 18 will help a lot but a straight ball or even a cut will work good too, a front pin is a great birdie chance on this awesome finishing hole.
Beginners will come back, advance players will want to score better the next time, straight ball hitters you're going to be safe, no need to put your driver away here, don't hold back. You will find out that if you're a little right or left off the tee, you'll still have a shot at the green, like I said, very friendly course. Very pleasant cart girls.
Sometime before you get to your car the thought of coming back will cross your mind.
Mansfield National
The course was in good condition but a few holes had holes punched in the greens which made putting more difficult.
Mansfield National
Course was good shape. Greens played well. I would recommend this course to everyone.
Poor staff communication
When I arrived for my tee time, the staff should have advised there was a Junior Tournament in progress and the groups have been playing behind. The starter advised there were at least 7 Junior Groups that still needed to come through and they were all walking. I would've have gladly re-scheduled but felt as though the Pro Shop just wanted to squeeze in as many people as possible to get their fees.. Needless to say myself and two other customers received a rain check and walked away. Need better communication from the staff prior to checking in.
Great Condition, Great Greens
The course was better condition than most. There were some puddles of water, but giving the rain, 4 stars. However, did not interfere with play.
We played this course many time.
This course had maintained great greens since the winter. Best from all around the area.
Some apartments lining the tee boxes/ fairways, but not on both sides.
Has practice green, huge range.
Fairway ground was a bit harder than most (clay? instead of sand), still playable of course.
Good course layout, friendly staff, great course condition and great greens.
Opportunities for improvements:
Shoe brushes at holes (or selected holes). Drainage problem close to hole #10 from cart path to green, even when there is no rain.
Range had barren areas with exposed ground.
Fairway can be softer (very hard to fix, it is what it is, I suppose)
Devils in the details
Would have appreciated a heads up that a charity golf outing was going on when I paid for my round in advance . Our tee time was delayed a half an hour and the pase of play was super slow. Lots of zigzag golf being played....
Overbooked
Play here pretty much every weekend. Course is typically in good shape but with the rain recently, drainage has been an issue, as expected. Today we booked a 2 pm tee time. The course, however, had booked 2 tournaments for today. The 2nd one scheduled to go off just before 2. We were the first tee time after the tournament and they didn't go off until almost 230. We didn't tee off until almost 3...I understand the need for business, but this was very frustrating to have to wait this long to go off. We will be back, but were pretty disappointed in the overall handling of business today.
Fighting the Wind
Second time on this course. It plays very well for the average player. The wind and the colder weather make it difficult at times. But I really like playing this course.
Over seeded greens, but bumpy.
It was nice playing greens that were not dormant, but they were bumpy and inconsistent. The rest of the course was "rock" hard.
Good shape considering mid-Feb
Found the course fairly easy, which I personally like since my game stinks. Loved the classic rock pumped in over the driving range. The clay bottoms in the sand hazards stink, but that's what you get in the Mansfield area. The greens were nice, watered and very fast. Solid course for under 40 bucks.
greens in great shape
The greens right now might be some of the best in DFW. The whole course was in good shape for the winter...but the greens were outstanding. And I used to be a superintendent...worked in the industry for 20 years.
Mansfield National Review
I paid 30 dollars to play this course using golfnow around noon on a Monday. I enjoyed the openess of the course. The greens were in pretty good shape. I played the round in 4 hours exactly. I had a great experience at Mansfield National.
Good deal
Typically easy to get on. I live near by. Usually book thru GN. Course is well maintained and fun. My only complaint is we Occasionally get behind slow players and I have never seen a marshal on this course.
Green greens????
1st time to write any kind of review, 1st the pro showed up 5 minutes before our time.
Fairways were in good condition
Yes the Greens are very green....green with paint.
Very slow.. really uneven mowing
Would have been really really upset if I paid $60 like the group in front of us
Green greens
Excellent shape and the greens are in great shape...
Good Course, but Not a Four Star
Looked forward to playing this course due to the 4 star rating, but was somewhat disappointed. Course is okay although the fairways are dry and in some areas huge cracks opening in the ground, especially the first four holes. Got stuck behind an afternoon shotgun start tournament that slowed play and took almost 5 hours to finish. Not a bad course by any means, but value wise there are muni's that offer more for the price. I'll go back and try it again, maybe.
Course is in great shape
Playing conditions where great, greens in good shape. Staff was friendly. Although we had an early tee time. The pace of play was excellent.
