About
Architect Roy Case created both courses on this new 36-hole, daily-fee facility that is located only 10 minutes from downtown Houston. In addition to the views of the skyline, Case had at his disposal a touch of Hill Country terrain with dramatic elevation changes, as well as the typical Houston- area prairie lands. From this he was able to carve the links-style Highlands Course and the more traditional Lakes Course.
As its name implies, the Lakes Course, which tips out at a par 72 7,016 yards, is loaded with water. The best hole is the 539-yard No. 7, which is listed as the number one handicap. Interestingly, the four easiest holes are the par 3s, which range from 165 to 218 yards.

Fun chalky layout
Really enjoyed playing the Lakes course. Completely different than the Highlands side. Fun challenging layout. Great shape. Will be back soon

Crones take
The course was in good shape, even though it had rained two days prior to the round. The layout was challenging, even from the white tees. Very good views. The carts were above the usual grade; they had club covers, which came in handy when it started to rain.

The staff was very helpful and the course was in great shape. Definitely on my top five list for Houston area courses!!!

Step up
I know Wildcat has some huge sponsors and host a lot of tournaments. The course can be better and taken care of like the expectation of the sponsors who put a lot of revenue into the course.

Fantastic Staff
There are as error with my tee time when I arrived (my mistake). The staff (Marcus) was “quick on his feet” and resolved the situation despite the fact that he was under no obligation. They got us on the course almost immediately and he could not have been more gracious.

The water course
Got a discounted rate for the Lakes Course. Second time playing Wildcat. Played in foursome with a couple who calls Wildcat their home course. This was helpful as the round proceeded. Water comes into play on a number of holes. Hole 9 is very long and hard to vision. Hole 11 was also challenging as well as 16-18th. The greens were very fast in the afternoon after a tournament had concluded. Noticed a couple of greens with bare areas and also what looked like tire marks on a number of greens. Could have been from a mower or other machinery. Late afternoon pace was O-K. Looking forward to playing Highlands Course in the future.

Greens were excellent.
Course conditions were great. Only problem was blind shots without a diagram or picture to know an aim point. I hit one right at the pole for 150 and it ended up in water.
But, I had a blast and will play the course again.
