Wildcat Golf Club - The Lakes
About
Architect Roy Case created both courses on this new 36-hole, daily-fee facility that is located only 10 minutes from downtown Houston. In addition to the views of the skyline, Case had at his disposal a touch of Hill Country terrain with dramatic elevation changes, as well as the typical Houston- area prairie lands. From this he was able to carve the links-style Highlands Course and the more traditional Lakes Course.
As its name implies, the Lakes Course, which tips out at a par 72 7,016 yards, is loaded with water. The best hole is the 539-yard No. 7, which is listed as the number one handicap. Interestingly, the four easiest holes are the par 3s, which range from 165 to 218 yards.

Excellent course
This course has two 18 hole choice’s and they are both top notch… always..
Well kept course
I really enjoyed golfing here. The course was well kept, especially during the summer when most golf courses tend to get very dry. Aside from being a well-kept course the staff was very nice and friendly. I would love to golf here again.

GREAT COURSE
One of the best courses around the Houston area hands down. Greens were excellent, fairways smooth, rough was rough. I played the tips and you will 100% need that little caddy book in the clubhouse to help with your yardages and carry distances. My new favorite course!

Great Course(s) in Great Condition
Haven't played Wildcat in a good while, but checked out the Lakes course and it was in great condition overall, especially considering the extreme heat and lack of rain in the Houston area lately. Greens were great and the facilities (practice and clubhouse) were well kept, place is still one of the top notch public courses around Houston!

Great condition
Even though we’re in a drought, they are keeping this course in great condition. They are watering it so much that there were wet spots in some of the fairways, but I appreciated it.

Seen it better
Not the first time I played. Given the extreme heat not bad but many muddy parts, puddles in bunkers and greens not in optimal quality. Not a $100+ course but always fun.

Tough and lots of blind shots.
Played the lake 18, the first 7 holes where the toughest I've played, which isn't a problem. There are lots of blind shots. There no diagrams on the tee boxes of the hole. A book that describes each hole and how to play it would help speed up play and a chance to have pro shop make some money. Bring lots of balls.

Wildcat during summer heat!
Golf course was challenging with many water hazards.
My only dissatisfaction was the permiter of the club house looks like they are behind on maintenance and the golf carts are getting really old. I had to get a second golf cart because I had issues with the first one.

Pre Tournament Play
Course was in great condition overall. Only saw one green that had some rough spots. Greens were very fair late in afternoon under Texas heat! Some construction being done near cart path on a later hole.

Good course, a little pricey, markings not good
Overall good condition, not well marked with directions to holes. Very disappointing to not have pin placements or flag colors on greens. Was told new carts, gps etc coming but been coming for months. 75.00 weekday
