White Wing Golf Club

About
White Wing Golf Club opened its first opened with nine holes in June of 2000, and followed shortly thereafter with the complete package. Often compared to the nearby 1996 Legacy Hills, White Wing isn't quite as long, but is definitely more narrow, lined with massive old oak trees, some of which are located right in the middle of the fairway. Many times even if you pure the tee shot down the middle, you'll be forced to hustle a punch shot under one of these majestic trees.
Billy Casper's design is known for its challenging par 5s, one of which is the signature finishing hole. No. 18 plays downhill into a split fairway, offering a more aggressive shot to the right that must clear Berry Creek at 210 yards out, which gives you the chance to get home in two. If you play it left, you'll need three good shots to get to the green, one of which will involve dealing with one of the huge oaks that looms in the fairway.
White Wing Golf Club's most difficult hole is the par-4 No. 4, which requires an accurate tee shot between fairway bunkers, followed by an approach over a bunker into a multi-level green

Beautiful course
Well maintained course with lots of big, mature trees. Challenging layout. Significant doglegs, elevation changes and plenty of character. Large receptive greens that putted remarkably true, especially for this time of year. Highly recommend
Nice course
White wing is a nice course with wide fairways that include challenged like well maintained bunkers, some water hazards or Creeks. The greens are very well kept snrange in size and difficulty.
good shape
we played at 13:00 so hardly anyone on the course and out foursone completed 18 in 3 1/2 hours. greens on front nine were great . greens on back nine had been punched and were bumpy. firways really good .
Awesome course.
Fantastic course. Back nine greens were air-rated..
good value
fairways are in great condition ,particularly with all the hot weather.
Great hot deal
Can’t beat the price and conditions of course for hot deal...if you hVe the chance definitely give this course a try
Better than advertised
Greens were being Air plugged.
But I Loved this course. % sets of tee boxes. I played the 4th hardest and it was still a short course. Made scoring easy. There is no water. Not a lot of Danger. Just a very well layed out and designed course. If you don't mind the Trek to Georgetown, this course if great.
Course in excellent condition would highly recommend
White Wing in Sun City
Staff or lack thereof, no direction, dirty unattended golf cart, no score card, no ice on a 100 degree day, really folks???
Played this course for the first time since the overhaul .. gotta say we really enjoyed it greens are in great shape and pretty quick on the day we played .. good value for the twilight round !!
Windy day
This was my first time playing here and have to say I really enjoyed my round the pace of play was awesome had to wait one time to play. The greens were fast and rolled true. Can’t wait to get back. The only thing is there’s no bar ,restaurant or cart girl. For a course this nice it was disappointing.
first time played
fairways were great, greens a challenge. A little windy but otherwise a beautiful day. Enjoyed the challenge and will return for a rematch for sure.
Love this course
Got a good deal on this course for a Sunday round.
I really like all three courses in Sun City Georgetown, but had not played this course for a while.
They have flipped the 9s since I last played in November 2015, which threw me a bit. So, at this time, the hole near the range is NOT #1, it's #10, and clearly marked by a sign in front of the range (that I completely missed, thinking I knew where #1 was).
The check-in guy didn't mention the flip of the 9s, but he had someone on hold, and was a bit flustered.
The course was wonderful. It was in very good shape, and the greens were smooth and fairly fast.
I found it fairly challenging, but not too long from the gold tees, for my playing ability.
If you're a single, you'll probably get paired up with a Sun City resident, who I've found to typically be a very friendly golf nut...!
I look forward to playing it again.
Course is in good condition was slow but group in front only played 9 holes
Great conditions, but zero amenities and range closed
I was paired with a resident who was a fairly new golfer. He was great.
The good - This course is a nice track and it is in great shape, especially the back nine. The greens are awesome. There are deer, turkey and other wildlife and although it winds through the houses, they don't seriously encroach on the course. This could be one of my favorite places to play, if not for the below.
The bad - This course is in Sun City and great for the residents. Retirement community residents, however, often have nothing else to do and are in no hurry on the golf course. It took 2:51 minutes to play the front nine. We were behind a foursome that had no one in front of them and despite seeing our twosome waiting on them every shot, and another foursome behind us on the tee, they didn't make any attempt to pick up the pace of play or allow us to play through. In contrast, when the foursome quit after nine holes, we played the back nine in 1:32 minutes.
The Ugly - There are absolutely NO amenities; no bar, no restaurant, no food, no cart girl, and the driving range was closed, allegedly due to rain the day before. The course had drained very well and there was only one mushy spot on one fairway on the whole course. The range is off mats, and the landing area appeared as dry as the course. It was frustrating that no alert was posted on the course website or GN site.
In Summation - Great layout and conditions, staff was cordial.
Expect a five to six hour round.
Go only for the golf; there is no place to socialize or eat or even get a soda to drink. The manager in the pro shop said they hope to have the restaurant open sometime next year (2019).
If it rains within two days of your round, expect the range to be closed and that you will not be able to warm up. If open, it's mats only.
I would recommend this course only to someone who lives close to it and goes only to golf the track.
BYOB
Nice course, but it plays slow. Bring your own cooler/refreshments, because you can’t buy so much as a cold bottle of water or soft drink anywhere on this facility.
They have water in coolers (filled with a hose) around the course, but that’s it. Very inhospitable.
