Colorado National Golf Club
About
The golf course at the Colorado National Golf Club is an 18-hole, public course that is situated just 20 minutes north of Denver. Jay Morrish designed the formerly known as Vista Ridge golf course with a traditional links-style layout. The course covers 7,579 yards of golf from its longest tees and plays to a par of 72. Rolling fairways lined with native grasses and large, undulating greens make the golf course interesting, while beautiful views of snow-topped mountains provide pleasant scenery. The course has many bunkers as well as water hazards. Colorado National Golf Club also features five sets of tee boxes for golfers to work on a number of different handicaps.

Golfer Reviews
Championship Course with a Championship Price
Overall this course is awesome! A very challenging course from tee to green, with plenty of obstacles. A couple of greens were a little on the average side, but overall they roll great with some speed! The bunkers will well groomed, and the rough was challenging and thick after all this rain Colorado has been receiving. The carts are awesome with GPS touch screens, and the beverage cart did very well on making her rounds around the course. This course is by far one of the best in town especially for the price! I highly recommend this course to everyone! I will be returning here no doubt!
little wet and busy but expected
Memorial Day late afternoon golf. it was slow, and the rain slowed Us down for 20 minutes more otherwise it was a nice time out. can't complain about pace of play it was expected going in.
course was in stellar shape considering the amount of rain we've gotten recently
Plan on wasting your whole day!!!
This is the second time I've played this golf course both times were six hour plus rounds they need to do something to solve this problem either hire a marshal and have him enforce pace of play or something but it is ridiculous!! Ruined a perfectly good Golf day ...I will definitely never go back in my lifetime! Enjoy
Slow play
Great design fun to play. Greens very hard multiple types of grass causing bumpy conditions, some grass was thick other thin growth. Very slow play, 5 hours 21j minutes to play a round. Not good.
Aeration
Played this course twice over the past few months and the greens aren't healing up at all after being aerated and the collars aren't very well maintained around the greens..
Dissapointing
Beautiful golf course. Terrific lay out. Pace of play was terrible. No marshals, just one starter. Find a new groundskeeper. Fairways were no better than an average muni. Dandelions and willow wisps all throughout the rough and around the greens. Greens themselves were an absolute mess and there was no advisory. Control of the carts is annoying. If I lived and played on this course as a member, I would be calling for serious changes before the very nice course falls apart.
Great views
Very fun course. Challenging but not overly difficult. It is the cu golf team home course so it's kept up nicely. Good food and friendly people. Plus it's super easy to get to. It was a little crowded but the views made up for the wait time. It's a fun way to spend an afternoon.
course is in horrible ahape
Greens didn't have any grass on them, clubhouse have control of your cart and that really sucks, there is no sand in the bunkers, If this is where the CU teams are supposed to get better, goo dB luck for that program
Two different nines
The shop guy was not helpful. Where do you get carts? Where do I get range balls? Beautiful layout, course conditions were not good. The greens on the front nine were bumpy and fast. The greens on the back nine were bumpy and slow. There was little, if any sand in the bunkers. I'd heard that CNGB was a must play. Luckily, my must play came as a hot deal for 29$. It was a beautiful day and I love golfing. Just an honest opinion from someone that's worked at a golf course for the past 16 years.
Windy April Warm-up
I got a Hot Deal so played a great course I wouldn't normally pay for. The course is still coming out of Winter but the tee boxes are the best I've ever seen. It was a terribly windy day so struggled on the against-the-wind holes. Though the final hole is rated 6th difficult, I thought it was the hardest - that is, having to finish over the water. It was a decently quick round (probably because of the windy conditions and using a cart). I cant wait to play it again when it warms up!
Co. National
Facilities are outstanding. Can't wait to play it again! Greens and fairways in good condition. Range is very nice. Had a cheeseburger at the turn. Well priced and very good.
Not recommended.
The facilities are nice however the condition of the course was poor. Even for March it should be in better shape. Carts were allowed on cart paths only which seemed ridiculous since the ground was very dry. The greens were especially poor.
Beware of frost delay
20 minute frost delay in the morning but they crammed everyone on the course so that by noon they were "caught up". The normal just under five hour weekend round turned into a five and a half hour slog-a-thon. Love the course but the pace of play on the weekends is abysmal.
Greens not good
I have played this course once before and the greens were excellent. While I understand that in Mid-March, they won't be great, these greens were bumpy and infected with a mixture of grasses that made for an awful putting experience. In addition, despite the course being dry, it was cart path only, which made for a 5 hour round, despite the course being only moderately full on a Monday afternoon. We waited on nearly every shot for 18 holes.
This course has amazing views!
Not only is the course challenging for your beginner or advanced golfer. It has views that are well worth the price of green fees. Carts have gps in them and very easy to use. One of the best courses to play in Colorado.
Good looking layout
Played in February. Course was in good condition for the winter season. Can't wait to play it this summer.
Great scenery
Course was in reasonably good shape considering it was rhe middle of January (rarely an opportunity to be open for four days this time of year). Love the layout.
Sir you do realize that the whole state of CO was under snow for over three weeks. The course was closed up until two weeks ago. When the course is just coming out of winter, it has to be cart path only to preserve GOOD summer conditions.
