Colorado National Golf Club
About
The golf course at the Colorado National Golf Club is an 18-hole, public course that is situated just 20 minutes north of Denver. Jay Morrish designed the formerly known as Vista Ridge golf course with a traditional links-style layout. The course covers 7,676 yards of golf from its longest tees and plays to a par of 72. Rolling fairways lined with native grasses and large, undulating greens make the golf course interesting, while beautiful views of snow-topped mountains provide pleasant scenery. The course has many bunkers as well as water hazards. Colorado National Golf Club also features five sets of tee boxes for golfers to work on a number of different handicaps.

back again maybe
Course conditions were good for this time of year; a couple of more months and it will definitely be at it's peak. Love the speed of the greens. Hats off to superintendent.
Price was right. Booked online. Speedy check in. Would be nice if you including practice balls in pricing. Pretty standard at most premium courses in Denver metro.
The only bad thing I experienced was the length of time waiting to get beverages and food at the turn. The bartender seemed more interested in chatting with the guys already finished with their rounds. She definitely needed some help, especially considering the marshall was getting on our case before we walked in. The group in front of us waited for well over 15 min and they ordered from the cart ahead of time! That's an improvement that needs immediate attention. Weekends during prime hours need to have two ladies working the bar and one working the tables at least.
Room for improvement but overall had fun and shot well.
Advanced GPS on Carts!
Greens were slow and in fair condition, Fairways rough in spots... A bit pricey for conditions, I play this course about 20 times per year.. they must have raised their prices this year, and the course was in better shape last year. Punched greens still slowing down my putts. I would be happy if they lowered their rates this time of year.
Horrific slow play at this course
The pace of play was TERRIBLE. Did not see a Marshall once in 5 hours. The service in the grill was unfriendly and as slow or slower than the pace on the course
Greens fees very fair, so that means no Rangers?
I know it is early, but it was a pretty busy (Rick Rielly was there doing a ESPN piece) and beautiful day. Manage your course like it deserves to be managed. The food and beverage staff was great and super friendly but I can get that a restaurant. The golf staff was apathetic and without a ranger the pace of play was really bad. Good thing I only paid $40 because that is about what it is worth for a 5 hour round. I would gladly pay $60 for a 4 hour 15 round.
Great Course To Get You Going
This was our first round of the year and the course was in great shape. There is some standing water, but that is no surprise in the middle of April. The group ahead of us was pretty slow, but the twosome we were paired up with were just as slow, so it was smooth. I love the long par 5's and 3's. I am a big hitter, so a longer course like this is nice to be able to use every club in my bag. The staff was friendly and lunch at the clubhouse was fantastic. I like to come here about once a year because I live quite far away, but it is worth the trip.
Nice course overall! !
Nice course. Could have been in better condition. But it is early in the year still. I'm sure it will be better by middle of May.
Good value for a Hot Deal
Several burned out areas & the greens had recently been aerated so that wasn't great but for the $$ on your Hot Deal, I'd play it again.
Carts/staff
Cart died on the third hole. Took 30 min to get a new one.
Fun course with great views
A challenging course from the tips. Strategic bunker placements ensure you think about each shot. Fun course.
Very Poor Organization
This was the first time my friends and I played at this course and because of the people who worked there, it will be the last. Everyone who worked there was obnoxiously unfriendly. We had a tee time at 1 o'clock and showed up an hour early. When we checked in we were told that we wouldn't be able to get off until 2 o'clock due to poor scheduling. So, we got up to the tee at 2 and were told it would probably be 20 more minutes because of slow play. The attendant said he would tell us when we could go then he just took off. 30 minutes rolled by and he hadn't returned yet. So we took it upon ourselves to go ahead and tee off with a single who was waiting ahead of us and invited us to join. An hour and a half late! We then only managed to play 9 holes due to slow play ahead. All in all, the experience left a sour taste in our mouths considering we drove an hour to get there from our friends house and paid for 18 holes.
I would not recommend this course.
Nice being outdoors, I guess
I had the chance to play Colorado National Golf Club while in Colorado on business. Pulling up the course looks incredible and the facilities present the illusion this course is going to be solid. The staff was okay, seemed preoccupied. I had to rent clubs which I was told was a set of Nikes, however when I picked them up it was a Frankenstein set. That set me back $40 and I used my partners clubs most of the day. The course was not in great shape, granted the greens were being airated. Solid layout, poor upkeep.
Colorado National
I really liked the layout and the variety of tee boxes available. What didn't work well for me was that the greens were aerated and sanded. I wasn't aware of this through my GolfNow booking until after I had paid for the round. Also, the back nine was closed, so I had to play the front twice. I was notified of this situation by the pro shop when I checked in. A couple important bits of information I would have liked to know in advance. With that said I'd love to play there again in a month or so when the course is in shape.
No Aeration Alert
Golf Now did not have an aeration alert and the greens were just done. Still not on the site.
Colorado National is always a great challenging coarse. The conditions do vary throughout the year. If there is any wind in the area you will feel it there. Spectacular views of the Rocky Mountain range.
Great layout! Poor management!
The layout is fantastic! Facilities very nice. We had a 130 tee time and when we arrived from Denver we were told we were delayed about an hour due to morning delays! Totally understandable for this time of year but was very surprised that the course didn't throw in range balls or give us a discount seeing as we had to wait an extra hour to tee off! We were told we would not have a problem finishing however after a 5 + hour round it was very dark when finishing. Maybe think about having a ranger on the course on the weekends! As a former competitive player I would be very disappointed if this was my home course or if I paid for a membership here! Too many good courses around Denver, no need to come back and play here!
winter conditions
I would say that I want to go back and play again when the grass is in. The greens are hard to read and the speed was different on each hole. Playing in March you take a chance. However, the front nine is a challenge. I do like the GPS telling you about the hole and how to play.
Course features.
The course is challenging with some wonderful scenery. The design is set among all the lovely homes in the development and the foothills. I will return for some more rounds.
1st time @ CO National
My friends and I played CO national for the 1st time this past Sunday. We had an afternoon tee time and it was at a great price.
The weather was beautiful day for mid-March golf.
It is early in the season so the course isn't in its top condition yet, but the fairways were clean and played well and the greens were nice, but not very forgiving.
Overall my friends and I had a great round of golf and will definitely be back to play the course this summer. I can't wait to see the course in its full beauty and play in some summer conditions.
Slowest Play Ever
Cart path only and play was delayed 45 min due to frost. Round was over 6 hours, going on 7. Called the club house for a Marshall to speed up play and none ever showed. Pro at the desk was rude and the gal on the CU golf team who played with us also said he was rude to her. We like the course, but stay away because of the pro and his bad attitude.
When will management figure it out????
Great Views
I am disappointed with their customer service having played there multiple times. There seems to be a overall lack of sense of urgency and they don't seem to appreciate your business whatsoever. With that said this course is kept in great shape and has superb views of the mountains from almost every hole.
Somewhat disappointed
I've played this course several times over the past few years, and there always seems to be a few holes in terrible shape. The course layout is really nice and fun and there are a lot of challenging holes, but the condition of the course always seems to be lacking. No chipping area either, just a putting green.
