Colorado National Golf Club
About
The golf course at the Colorado National Golf Club is an 18-hole, public course that is situated just 20 minutes north of Denver. Jay Morrish designed the formerly known as Vista Ridge golf course with a traditional links-style layout. The course covers 7,676 yards of golf from its longest tees and plays to a par of 72. Rolling fairways lined with native grasses and large, undulating greens make the golf course interesting, while beautiful views of snow-topped mountains provide pleasant scenery. The course has many bunkers as well as water hazards. Colorado National Golf Club also features five sets of tee boxes for golfers to work on a number of different handicaps.

They got it set up diffucult
The couse is set up way hard with 1st cut rough 2 inches, 2nd cut rough is 4 feet tall weeds.
Must be a sharpshooter, with long distance to score well.
Challenging but Fair layout
Course is very challenging if you can't keep your drives in the fairway. Was well maintained when we played, though there were quite a few spots that needed some extra attention. Couple of the greens had some burn but were otherwise in good shape and rolled true. Pace was slow but it was on the weekend so it was fairly expected and the course marshall was moving groups as quickly as he could.
A little disappointing......
The course was in decent shape but some greens were not in good condition. The pace of play was not good and the Marshall's response of, "we'll it is a weekend and we are busy" was unacceptable to us. This course probably won't make our list for a replay this year.
Love the course and the greens were really fast and in the best shape ever.
I love this course! It is a long course so takes a bit longer to play than other courses, plus it's hard and i stink at golf. Staff is very friendly and they have a great patio for drinking after. The best course to play around denver for sure.
Great course!
Course was in great shape. Beautiful views. Play was a little slow but it was Father's Day weekend. We are novices and played off the Copper tees, it was plenty challenging! Keep that ball in the fairway, it is next to impossible to find in the tall grass.
Tee times too close together 12 minutes apart 5 .5 hour round
Ranger did not do a good job of attempting to speed up play. He basically gave in to the traffic jam.
Rude Staff
Hanna refused refund for the back 9 that we didnt get to play because the front nine took us over 3 hours because of them letting a family with 2 small kids play. They refused refund and they treat guests like trash. Poor excuse for a golf "club"
Challenging track on a great piece of land.
We teed off at 6:30 a.m.
The views were awesome & the conditions were great. There are a lot of elevation changes here and it gets you thinking strategy on every tee box. The Greens were fast but they rolled true. This golf course is a great value.
Always Nice!
I love CNGC. It is always in good to great shape. Fun and challenging holes but fair for all levels. Plays long from the tips! Play the right tees for your ability.
Great track
This is a great track. Greens are a bit firm, but that seems to be the case at a lot of courses this year. The main complaint that I have is that it took 5 hours to play. That tells me that they overbooked a bit or they do not do a good job keeping on slow groups and their pace of play.
Nice Course
I've played this course a few times and had a blast, but this last time, the pace of play was brutal. Due to the terrain, the is not a course I would recommend to walk, but nonetheless, there were walkers slowing everyone down. The staff needs to strategically place walkers so that they will not hinder others. Slow play kills your game!
Links Course North of Denver
Course was challenging - especially the 580 yard Par 5. There was ample opportunity to get into trouble in the rough on this course. Pace of play was a bit slow following 2 groups who were 30 minutes behind the pace of play.
Tough pin placements on a Saturday
We played on 6/1/2013 and the course was in good shape overall. A few fairways had small patches of area under maintenance which appeared to be healing nicely. The greens were hard, firm and generally receptive to a good mid-iron shot. The pin placements were challenging for us. Many pins were tucked into the corners with little green to work with, or the pin was just on top of the second tier. I hadn't played here in a few years and now that I have returned to the course I want to play here several times a year.
Not worth the money
I can't believe that CU plays on this course. It was one of the worst maintained courses I've been on this year. The tee boxes and greens need lots of work. The lay out of this course is great and that’s all I can say that’s positive.
A fun, challenging course for all abilities. Slow pace of play.
This course is in great shape and it offers a real challenge for golfers of all abilities with five sets of tees. The staff is friendly and attentive. The one issue is slow play...five hour round due to slow players ahead of us and no marshall in sight on the back nine to hurry them along.
Problems with the GPS
The problem was the GPS DID NOT WORK. Would have got 4 stars otherwise.
This course has great practice facility.
I like this course because the other holes don't run side by side. You are on your own hole the entire round. Nice to not have to worry about other balls coming at you from other holes.
Tough course with fun holes!
I always enjoy the home of the BUffs. Love the drivable par 4 on the back 9. Never make it over the water but a really fun hole. Staff is always fun. Might be the best looking female staff ever.
