Excellent course for folks in the area who want a good round of challenging golf, but don't want to spend $60+ on the Island. I'm a mid-high handicapper, but am able to enjoy the course every time I've played it (around 10+ times).

I'll give you the positives first: 1) Greens are in excellent shape. 2) The course layout is fun and interesting. Outside of these two things, this place was really a waist of time. Every fairway is either dirt or crab grass, the rough is either dirt or weeds, the one staff member I met was not pleasant at all, to top that off 2 foursomes were allowed to jump in on us at the turn which slowed play to a snails pace. The back 9 was painfully slow and not fun. Allowing groups to jump in on 10 is not acceptable at all. We were the second group to go out in the morning and that was for a reason. Pace was great until the back. Pay the extra few bucks and go play one of the Jekyll Island courses that are only 10-15 minutes away.

If this was the only golf course available to me, I would give up the game. Waste of time and money.

This course has a great write on their web site, but is not taken care of. All aspects of the course need TLC. Pace of play was so bad we almost walked off after nine hole. Instead we jumped 3 holes to get around some slow players. I would never go back.

Good value, greens were faster than expected. the back 9 was more of a challenge than the front. more water and narrow fairways.

I'm a returning golfer and hadn't played in many, the course was in good condition and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

When I made my Tee Time (GolfNow Rate/Excellent) I presumed I would Tee Off on #1 at my designated time.
Due to Club Scramble my group was moved to #10 to start..... After first 9 was competed arrived at #1 with 2
twosomes and a threesome waiting to tee off. Pace of play was then interrupted along with mindset from starting on #10. If I would have purchased a #10 Tee to start it would have been different.

I have to say I was plesantly surprised at the conditions of the course and the layout. I've driven by this Golf Course several times and have seen this Golf course advertised on Golf Now with some really great deals, which led me to believe is was not a very well maintained course however I was wrong. My buddy and I had no idea what to expect but the staff was friendly and the course was very well maintained for this time of year. We played from the White Tees, which is around 6400 yards and it did prove to be a challenge, especially on the back 9 where there were more obstacles to negotiate. We had a great time and will be back for sure. We live in Richmond Hill, GA so the course is a short 40 minute drive and right off I 95.

My son & I had 4 hours to enjoy while playing golf.

The GOOD...the greens are pretty smooth...you will need to fix 3 or 4 ball marks on each green before you putt..

The BAD...the fairways are well defined...the rough is tan and the fairways have more unfilled divots than I have ever seen. The bunkers...just rake you out a nice spot and re-drop your ball. The tee boxes have more weeds than grass.

HINT TO MANAGEMENT.

Hire a Ranger!!! Give the Ranger a stack of free drink coupons. Every time the Ranger spots someone filling more than one divot or repairing more than three ball marks, give them a free drink. Give out cheap plastic ball mark repair tools.

I played this course about 2 years ago and it was in horrendous shape. Recently, I noticed that it was rated almost 4 stars on this site so I decided to give it another try. It was better than the first time but not by much. It was in mediocre condition - at best - even for this time of year. I played as a single and was put off behind several threesomes and foursomes. I was let through by one foursome on #2. I then had about 2 open holes in front of me. I caught up with the next foursome on #5. At the time, they had 2 holes open in front of them. I waited behind them until #12 when I decided to go around them. There were at least 3 holes open in front of them and they still hadn't let me through. Too bad more and more golfers know nothing about golf etiquette. Based on the condition of the course, I will not be back.

Wanted somewhere to play that was not too expensive - found it here. Generally in good condition although one or two greens were in poor shape - they looked like they needed water despite the amount we have had this summer! Not difficult, round in less than 3 hours, on a Saturday!

The course is in great shape. They aerated the greens, so next week should be excellant. The staff is always corial and friendly. I play there once a week.

Greens are SLOW every time we play here. It takes the whole round to get used to having to smash every putt. Course conditions are acceptable. If you are looking for good value, this is a strong option. Not nearly as nice as Sapelo Hammock or Santuary Cove (closest compitition) but if you can tee it up at the right time, you can save a good bit of money. For me, that makes it worth playing here from time to time.

the course was fun to play the people were nice and friendly only problem that I had was all the trash that was littered around the course. Not grounds keepers fault just stupid golfers fault.

My wife and I really liked this course. Big wide fairways, not a lot of trouble spots, well maintained, friendly staff,slow greens, GPS in every cart, proximity to SSI is good.
Only negative I would say is the number of empty bottles and cans along the cart path-far too many which shows a lack of well bred players and a lazy grounds staff. I picked up over 20 empties within reaching distance of my cart in the first 9 holes- no excuse for rubbish.

Super friendly clubhouse staff set the tone for a good round. Course was well maintained, considering all the rain this year. Greens rolled true with moderate predictability. Was a little surprised by the length the course played. Bring your long clubs for the big par fives. GPS carts is always a plus. Planning to play again soon. Worth the drive from Savannah? - Yes!
