Port Ludlow Golf Resort
About
The Resort at Port Ludlow sits along the shores of the Puget Sound with views that stretch across the Port Ludlow Bay. Located just 90 minutes from Seattle, the resort offers a luxurious waterfront inn, a marina, an award-winning restaurant, and a championship 18-hole golf course. Robert Muir Graves designed the course. He crafted a layout that challenging but rewarding, all while preserving the beautiful natural surroundings. The golf course is just one of 10 in the state of Washington that is a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. During your round, you'll enjoy abundant wildlife and panoramic views of the Hood Canal and Olympic and Cascade Mountain ranges. The golf course isn’t long but it's tight and will require both accuracy and strategy. Many holes are dramatically sloped and there are hazards facing you at almost every turn.

Very Satisfied
Me and the little lady decided to play a round of golf this Mother's Day. I had stayed at the resort 26 years ago when the course was still under construction and never returned to see the finished product until now. The course is very scenic and the played pretty fair from the blue tees. The service was excellent and the price was very reasonable. Other than being happy that we finally had the chance to play the course having a power cart was the best choice. Though gorgeous, the elevation changes would have worn me out. All in all we will be back there as some as possible to play it again.
Used to be in better shape
Course needs some TLC. Weeds in sand traps. Grass spotty & clumpy on edges of fairway.
Great Course!!
We had a great time playing at this low pressure, well kept course.
port Ludlow review
Well it's probably been 10 years since I played this course. It's as a remember a little wet in spots for spring, greens were recently punched and sanded but overall steal of a deal for the price.
Overall
This used to be the destination course on the Olympic peninsula. It could have been that it was April and things were just getting going after winter but the overall feel of the course felt like it was tired and in need of some TLC. No markers to tell us what hole we were on left us a little confused in the beginning. 19th hole was closed. I look to better times for this old girl.
Dissapointed this time
First of all, Golf Now usually has a caution about events such as greens have been sanded etc, no caution this time ⌚ and the greens were obviously just sanded. Second there were no information signs about the hole. Otherwise the course was reasonably dry considering the time of year. Oh and the snack restaurant was closed, this was at 2pm on Sunday.
staff friendliness rates high
This course is in need of mowing and the greens were recently plugged and sanded, but that's what needs to happen this time of year. The rough was almost unplayable so you needed to keep it in the fairway, but the staff was very appreciative of our business and it bode well for them moving into spring and summer golf season.
Great lay out
Greens in good shape but fairways are rough and needed mowing.
Fast greens, fun course
Played with a Golfnow hot deal so the price was right. Course in good shape and not too wet for March. Looking forward to going back.
Nice layout, great views
Challenging at times, fun to play it
The staff was very accommodating and responsive
Some uphill and downhill holes make it challenging, you better know your draws and fades, you can use both
Enjoy it!!
beautiful
Beautiful course, challenging and I recommend carts for elevation and staircase like walking paths.
Great beauty and what a view!
The views on this course are just spectacular! Its across the Hood Canal and somewhat secluded, but really a nice course to play. JGG
Fun as always, but took forever
I love coming to this course a few times a year, but Sunday seemed interminable. They usually don't have this problem here.
I played the first four holes in good measure and hit the wall for 14. I we had played the entire course at that pace it would have taken five hours. And there there was nobody from the course out to monitor pace or push.
Otherwise the course was in good shape and fun to play. it's not rock-hard like most courses this late in the summer.
nice cousre
Course was in great shape, fairways nice and green for this time of year and the greens are in great shape
Perfect day for golf
Weather was perfect and my playing partners were gentlemen. The staff were very friendly and helpful while the course delivered up a fine challenge.
The greens were rolling well with a few blemishes visible. The bunkers have inconsistent and at times not enough fluffed sand plus rocks. The fairways were a mixed due to trouble with the irrigation system and the tee boxes needed a hair cut. With those caveats aside, it was a fun day of golf.
This course has good sceenery
The course was good, the scenery was excellent, the prices for snacks, food, and beverages were too expensive and should be dropped to comply with the standards of courses within an hour distance. Beer is beer and hot dogs are hot dogs. High prices force golfers to bring their own snacks/beverages whether it be legal or illegal.
Excellent as usual
Beautiful setting. Challenging layout. Course was in excellent condition as usual. Go play there. You won't be disappointed.
gorgeous course
This may be the most beautiful course in the State. It is lovely to look at. However, the course was very soggy in many areas, considering the small amount of rain we have had in the area, and yet, there were also many areas on the fairways that looked diseased or totally lacking water where the grass was patchy and sparse. This is worth playing both for the extreme challenge and especially for the beautiful layout.
Challenging and beautiful course
This was my second time to play Pt. Ludlow and it had been about 10 years. The course was in great shape, and I found it very challenging. Placement of tee shots was key on this course (and that didn't always work out for me). I linked up w/ some other golfnow guys and had a lot of fun. We even had a bald eagle fly eye-height down a fairway right between us. It was incredible.
Also, we had breakfast there and it was very good and was a good deal. Thanks.
Enjoyable course
I thought it would be more scenic but I did enjoy seeing huge stumps left from the logging industry from the past.
