About
For many years a nine hole course, the course was extended to its present eighteen holes between 1987 and 1989. A par 70 course, measuring just under 6200 yards, it presents a varied and challenging test of golf, requiring accurate play off the tee and a good short game on the approaches to the small and tricky greens. The course has few hidden hazards, and what you see in front of you is what you have to conquer.
The first and last holes, containing slight doglegs, are much more testing than they would appear from the card, and if you can start and finish with two fours, you can be well satisfied. The Par 3 11th hole looks more intimidating than it really is, but requires a clean shot over the water. If you duff it, you are likely to be dropping another ball at the side of the pond.

A Must Play
We arrived early for our tee time and decided to have a bite to eat in the clubhouse. Unfortunately food is not served until 11.00am so we had a short wait. The waitress was sultry and less than friendly but the bacon rolls were wonderful. The clubhouse turned out to be the low point of our day and the Professional was friendly and very helpful.
The course is well laid out with a good variety of holes. It was in great condition and the greens were superb.
Old Meldrum is certainly a course worth playing. Just don’t bother with the clubhouse!!

Been 5 times now and it is always a great experience. Has to be one of the most friendly and helpful golf pros I've met.

Brilliant course
Brilliant course which was in really good condition. Was lovely and sunny as well which made it even better.

The course itself was in good condition and a reasonable challenge especially with the cross wind- the only downside was that there was an outing on and they were playing a Texas scramble format which was taking a bit longer than normal and we had to wait on the tee for the last 5 holes which made the round feel longer.

Fantastic afternoon
Chatted with the very friendly and helpful chap in pro shop. Sun came out as I hit my first drive (rubbish!) and stayed out for whole round. Course in excellent shape with green keepers working away in the, by now, very hot day. The two young guys in front played at the perfect pace with no hold ups on front or behind. Haven’t played the course for a couple of years but after a shaky start, I did pretty well and therefore can’t wait to have another crack at it.

Beautiful setting enhanced by the sunny day to take in views of local countryside. Course we'll manicured and greens in excellent condition. Pace of play good, welcoming professional on arrival.

Quirky
Some quirky holes, shared fairways and one hole where you have to play over the previous green.
Fairways could have done with a close cut.
