Insch Golf Club

About
Insch Golf brings a colorful past, incredible scenery and challenging play to the booming Scotland golf scene. Originally built before World War I, the golf course was used as a grenade range and golf disappeared from the quaint town of Insch until its triumphant return in 1982.
In 1997, Insch was transformed into an 18-hole run, and a new, modern clubhouse has helped make it one of the hidden gems in Aberdeenshire. Playing to more than 5,000 yards from the back tees with a par of 69, Insch is a parkland course where accuracy and course management are a must for players looking to mark down low scores.
Set between the peaks of Bennachie and Dunnideer, in the picturesque village of Insch - just a 40-minute drive from Aberdden - Insch Golf Club is conveniently located near such golf powerhouses as St. Andrews, Cruden Bay and Royal Dornoch.

Slow play
Having played insch on several occasions and very much enjoyed it was disappointed being stuck behind four group's of four playing best ball all of who went looking for there ball on every hole then came back to the first ball they played and played out every hole like this lasted 11 holes and came off the course I know this was not the fault of the staff but it was very annoying won't play early there again
Saturday out
Warm and friendly welcome from staff very helpful despite an outing in progress would recommend the courses to anyone who will listen.
A course of two halves.
Don’t be put off by the first holes, we were told that to get to the 3rd we had to cross a road by the very welcoming office staff. We could hardly believe the contrast the 3rd to 14th are delightful, well wooded, great views, undulating holes. A really good challenge and the course in good condition for this early stage of the season. We pretty much had the course to ourselves. You cross back to the last four holes, and the 15th and 16th are fine. To make up the course the last two are short par3’s play off the same tee box in different directions. Difficult to see how better it could be laid out but a course worth visiting especially for the 3rd to 14th.
Unknown Gem
We really enjoyed Insch this week. Some really interesting and challenging holes that needed some thought. We didn’t see a few of the subtle breaks on the greens and they caught us out. The staff before and after were great. Loved our coffee and cafe overlooking the 18th green.
Good day
This is a warm and friendly place to play golf a young staff marchalled by Jane the manager who was a delight had a slight problem with buggy mix up and they couldn't have been more accomadating thank you so much for a wonderful day .
Excellent course. Well looked after and prepared
Very good course. Fair test of golfing ability. Some risk and reward holes. Just love it. Some cracking holes.
Nice course - good value for monty
Like the whole country - the wet winter weather has had a massive impact on nearly all parkland courses (as well as many links) - thus the course played longer than would have normally been the case. Nevertheless it was in pretty good condition in a lovely setting. Of course facilities arr basic but staff very friendly and helpful.
Well worth a visit to play this golf course friendly staff and good value for money.
Decent Golf Course
This was my second time playing Insch it had been a good few years, it is a fairly short course so good if your not a long hitter, there is a nice variety of fairways and greens some courses have alot of parallel fairways that just look the same, you have to cross over a road and take a 5 minute stroll after a few holes and cross back to finish but not a big deal. The course was in decent condition for end of September the greens were a bit slow could have done with being cut again. We didn't have the opportunity in afternoon to use the restaurant as it was now on winter operational times.
Overall for £21 each on golf now it was decent value for money and I'd like another round here during the summer months.
Enjoyed my day
All in all very enjoyable day good at up nice staff will return to play again thank you
Difficult course, good condition
First round at insch, course was in great condition, mostly summer greens. Greens were difficult to read, some thought needed for some of the holes, challenging. Beautiful cenery, quiet place. No food or drink facilities on the course mondays or tuesdays so bring a sandwich and a flask.
Tight course
Narrow fairways not a lot of room for mistakes, tee boxes not well cut grass long in places and soggy and lots of bad divot marks. Green very slow slightly damp when played but still very slow and lines not true. Bunkers very gritty and not great drainage. Quite confusing layout if not played before could do with a course map with the scorecards. Fairways a bit of a mess due to people not replacing divots which isn't the staffs fault and people also not repairing pitch marks on greens Overall decent course and well priced but could do with some maintenance in areas.
