Inland alternative

I played this course on a trip in 2013 to the Highlands centered around Nairn and attending the Scottish Open at Castle Stuart. This is an overlooked option in the Scottish Highlands but the inland, national parks scenery and interesting design by James Braid definitely makes it worth a visit. It's also a comparable value to the links courses in nearby Inverness or up in Dornoch. Very fond memories.

A Highland Must

The positive experience began on the day we made our reservations in person. The gentleman taking our tee times was excellent. He arranged the tee times and rental clubs in a fast manner and explained the course in great detail. The day of our play, our excellent and quality rental clubs were ready prior to our arrival. The course is a well designed, fair but challenging track. The course maintenance is excellent. The greens are receptive to a well struck approach shot, holding well. The greens are not tricked up, rolling true. The scenery surrounding the course is beautiful. A MUST play when in the Highlands.
