Rough conditions
There were a few holes that had the tee boxes up so far that I actually used my putter from the tee box and got a par on a par 3. The greens were in great shape and the staff and practice facility were top notch just the tee boxes were in terrible shape and constantly very uneven footing.
Monthly pass worth the week day practice
I’d say it’s a great short game training facility and worth it ONLY if you have the monthly membership... and stop by to hit balls after work or play the 9 each week. Do that once or twice a week each and you’ll be getting it dialed in no time... apply that short game to the bigger tracks on the weekend with the boys boys
Fun quick round
Greens were a little beat up and traps were a little hard but otherwise great round for the price.
Poor course and poor customer service
Well I started off by wanting to go to the driving range when I asked for a bucket of balls I was simply told "no". Later I found out that the range is closed on Tuesdays until 12 which is no big deal. I just wished that the employee knew some manners. As I was playing with the course the upkeep was very poor and greens were terrible. Granted the course was only 13 bucks but even at that price I wouldn't go back. I would just spend a little more and go play somewhere else.
Greens
Greens were terrible the day I played. General maintenance seemed low.
Rough
For the price, I knew what I was getting into, but even for $16 I wouldn’t play hear again.
From Very Good to Very Bad
I have played this course many times over the past few years but not recently due to the pandemic (the course has just been too busy for my liking). Well, I finally booked a round for my wife and me to help her ease back into the game following her recent surgery. We were booked shocked at the course's condition. The tee boxes were lousy - no grass and poorly maintained. The fairways appeared to be neglected - uncut and full of holes caused by various animals. The greens used to be one of this courses best features, but not any. Today the greens were uneven, full of spots and poorly cared for. I will not be playing this course again any time soon and I think my wife feels the same way (I hope she writes a review).
Nice place to practice
Not a bad little course, if you plan to practice and horse around. If you want to play golf try a different course. Today we played today between a group of ten screaming "socker golfers" and a group of "disc golfers". So, between screams in the middle of your back swing and discs wizzing by your head when you are waiting on the tee box, the day was a disaster. I know everyone shold be able to play together, but most of the socker golfers I have seen have no etiquette. They make it very difficult to enjoy a nice round of golf.
Excellent learning place
I’ve used the range at this course many times and this was my first time on the course. It is a fantastic first place to get introduced to the game. The greens are all in good shape. The two holes that play as par fours have well maintained fairways. Anybody with half a game can easily look at the wildness of the course and dismiss it. But it is a great value and a sporty rotation of holes that will give any new player great memories of their first time.
Great beginner course
fun executive course and great for beginners! Greens are ok and sanded but still a good value
Fun, fast, and a great value! I'm hooked.
This was my first time on the 9 hole course at the Lake Forest Golf and Practice Center and I had fun. I went early morning on a Saturday. Was solo with nobody in front or behind. I made sure to take my time and get my practice shots in. The grounds crew was out there and were very courteous waiting for me to finish the hole before mowing.
I'll be back. I'm considering the monthly pass for these Summer months to get a fast 9-holes in mid-week mornings.
Great Short 9 Hole!
This course is a great 9 hole! It can be a great place to work on your short game. They have a mix of short holes that are only 90 yards to some that are 200+ yards. The only downfall i see is getting stuck golfing behind the frisbee golfers. They take forever and they don’t care that you are behind them. The grounds are a tad rough and need some tlc. However the greens are great! Keep in mind for the price, it’s amazing! They have lights so you can night golf!
