Need improvement
So our original tee time was 845 am as booked on golf now. When we arrived at the first tee for our time and found a three some and another four some. We were suppose to play as a foursome with another two some, however we were told the three some always plays at 845 every morning so the pro shop messed up. So we went out as a two some then joined up with the three some and played with five for two holes and kept up with the group in front of us. The course marshal said we had to break up.
So we broke up. My playing partner and I waited on every shot after that on the front nine for no less than five minutes. Once we got through the front nine and reached the back nine we had to advise the marshal of the extremely slow play. We finally played through and the course was wide open for the back.
Secondly they were having construction on a "water reclamation project" that took two holes out of service. Once being a par 5 and the other being a par 4. The par 5 played 272 yds and the par 4 played 168. They put the tees out in the middle of the fairway on both holes.
Next the greens were terrible. It appeared they had died in some spots as it was just dirt. Greens were very slow and inconsistent and had grass clippings all over. Secondly another worker had a large fan blowing the fairway and numerous times as people were hitting there second shots from the fairway he would be driving right at them telling them too hit.
Finally I paid 11 dollars for two "brats" aka a hot dog with pepper in it. There were not good.
I have played the Valley numerous times in the past and was farely taken back by its condition.
Don't play early!
Played from 8:45 - 1. Course was very wet. No roll whatsoever, but the greens were very fast. Many walkers, but, surprisingly, pace of play was fine. There was construction on 2 holes which shortened them considerably.
Good with special notes...
The course was in pretty good shape and the marshal came around once to check on the pace of play. Although it was near 90 degrees, some of the fairways were wet. Others were brown and dry. It was a similar story for the greens making their speed inconsistent. Several of the holes on the back nine are torn up for a big water reclamation project. There are trenches across the fairway with big taped off areas. This shortened one hole considerably. It looks like the project is going to take a while to finish.
good with deal
The split par three's are nice especially for the novice golfer but I feel the course is a bit over priced
First timer
We went on a Sunday morning and the parking lot was packed. We played a fairly fast round.
A wonderful day
Except for some drainage construction one of the par 5's on the back 9, the course was in perfect shape, the greens ran true and the rough was cut fairly for the average golfer. Staff was very friendly. We had a great time!
Great greens.
Staff was texting on his phone when I checked in. He forgot to give me key for cart, had to go back in get keys and he was still texting on his phone. Was to busy for customers. Will not be back.
Nice Easy Course
This course is really nice for the money. You see primarily trees, the river, and the course - no houses close to the course creating a nice peaceful atmosphere. The marshalls on the course do a good job of helping golfers and keeping their pace of play reasonable. The course isn't really difficult and is a flat course, but is a fun place to golf.
Tunwater Valley
An overall great day. Good food, great weather, great pace of play. Not being allowed to take carts to the parking lot was a major hassle. For young & strong, no big deal. For folks in their late 60's, big deal.
Tumwater Valley
This course is just challenging enough for the golfer who doesn't get out as often as he would like. Always a good day on the course.
great courseto build your confidence
had a great time, staff was super friendly. Paired up with a threesome that were local members who made me feel right at home. Course was not very long ( we played from the white tees ). really liked the fact that some of the par 3,s had dual tee boxes. Nice little course....gonna go back a play it again sometime..it's about a 25 minute drive from my house .
Tumwater Valley
Staff was very friendly, food included was good, course conditions were good but no beverage cart!
Brother-in-law enjoyed the course
It has been a few years since I have played Tumwater Valley. But since my brother-in-law, who is an avid golfer, was up visiting, I decided to take him to the course. We had a excellent day with a good value for the two rounds, a cart and sandwich and drink at the turn. The course is a moderate challenge and enjoyable when dry (as it was this day.) TVGC is a good choice for a day of golf in the area.
Great value
A good challenge great walking course sand was fluffy
Great value, well maintained course
We will certainly return for another round .
We stayed nearby at an RV park, it was very easy to find our way around Tumwater.
Nice morning
This was my first time at tumwater and I found the staff and facilities to be top notch. The course played fairly easy with lots of forgiveness for errant shots. The par 5s were all reachable and did not have a penalty should you miss going after them. Overall a fun morning of golf. I will be back
Affordablee and Exciting
As a new golfer, this course provides a challenge and sense of security with open fairways and water never too far away a person can enjoy and learn how to improve their game on this course. I will play this course again.
great hot deal
Cart and lunch. I imagine forecast of rain kept everybody away, but sunshine the whole round and nobody holding up play!
Wet but enjoyable.
Never played this course until recently. It's been a very wet winter and the course had it's drainage issues. But we weren't overcharged so we didn't complain. Greens were fairly true. Pro shop staff and restaurant employees were all great. Will play again during summer when it's dried out.
