Great Forgiving Course
Played a great round on the Pelham side! Carts were decent. The greens were great considering how cold it is. They keep it well maintained. Only thing is the cold weather seems to have contracted the ground so hold onto your things when driving in a cart! It's a bumpy ride! Honestly it can't be helped unless you flatten the earth LOL.
I RECOMMEND PLAYING IN THE MORNING! No wait. Pace is so much better. Very Empty. Lots of wild life so pretty.
It's very wide so very hard to lose a ball. The doglegs are great to practice with.
Nice Muni.
Good conditions for a windy damp November day. Forgiving wide fairways. Greens in great shape, many of them on the small side and well protected so accuracy on approach shots is needed.
Staff in pro shop and starters all helpful.
It was quiet so our foursome got around in four hours. Distance markers were not visible so a range finder is helpful to have. Carts were properly wiped down for sanitation. An enjoyable afternoon!
Great Local NYC Course
I love Split Rock - it's a nice course, wide open and forgiving. It's convenient for people living in the city.
Terribly Slow
We had a 1pm tee time and didn’t tee off until 130. The pace of play was terrible as it took us 3 hours to only play 9 holes. They really needed a ranger to pick up the pace of certain group. I normally enjoy this course a lot but they really need to fix their pace of play issues.
Very enjoyable game
The course is beautiful - plenty of open vistas, with some holes feeling more tunnel like with the trees allowing for varied play. Plenty of challenge, but not so intimidating for a newbie like myself. Probably one of my favorite courses that I've played this year. Will be back!
Much improved
The greens are much improved from a few ears ago. The rest of the course is better, but not as much as the greens. The course is a beast from the back tees. Wish they would trim a couple of trees which are right off the teeboxes.
not a good day
starter put a group in front of us that should have been behind us according to tee times. of course, this group was brutally slow with no regard for other golfers. 2+ hour frost delay then that led to only getting 12 hole in in 4.5 hours so i had to take off. disappointing after waiting for the sun!
Slow round
Course had a frost delay in the morning so they were about an hour behind. Showed up at 12:30 for my 1pm tee time, didn’t get out until 2pm. Played 15 holes, had to wait to tee off at every hole on the front 9
