Dyker Beach Golf Course

Played in 3 and a half hours early on friday morning,that seemed odd. Greens were healing up pretty good after being airated. Course looked good as a whole.

I love this course. I played after rain, cold weather, few people there, played by myself in just over 3 hours! Course is in good shape but greens were air-raided.

The pace of play wasn’t as bad as I had anticipated. Started late but benefited from a quick 4some in front of us. They spent a good deal of time waiting for the group of kids in front of them. Some holes are bit cramped but can’t beat the location which is why they get to charge what they do.

Dyker was in very good condition for late November. Wish players would fix their Ball Marks on the greens.If you made it fix it.

Booked with golf now and it appeared that we would be golfing alone. When we got to the first hole there were many people waiting to start. The starter said it would be at least 20 min before we could begin. After waiting 10 minutes they started us on the back nine and it posed a problem when people fining the first nine were behind us. Pace of ply always seems slow and always seems overbooked.

Otherwise course is kept in good shape and has a good layout.

Pace of place was unsatisfactory. No one was monitoring and several groups were affected.

I live in Staten Island and we have three courses and two of them are the best in the city, Silver Lake and La Tourette golf course. this past Saturday I decide to travel to Brooklyn to a course I played about six maybe seven years ago and it was in great condition, I had an incredible time, the fairways were trimmed to almost perfection and greens as well with very little imperfection, divots etc. But this time around it was a nightmare, untrimmed fairways lose the ball easily and the greens were a disaster with divots on all greens I mean terrible, and I will not mention the slow play with one group of four ahead of me took 40 minutes to play hole one,,, waste of money,,,

Had an 11:30 tee time, did not tee off until 12:15. They let a 5-some tee off at 11:30 on a Sunday. Course is in decent shape, but we quit on the 15th after 5 1/2 hours.

Had a 156pm tee time and could only get in 15 holes. Didn't tee off for at least an hour

Otherwise the course is perfectly average. Very slow pace of play. Conditions are just OK. Be prepared to duck and dodge stray balls from the hole adjacent to you.

The Course is challenging for most golfers. The pace of play is a problem on weekends and when Golf Outings are on the schedule. Having a Par 3 for the second tends to slow things down instead of speeding it up. But otherwise the staff is friendly and I have played a half dozen times this year and mostly as a single and have met many other golfers who are just as friendly.
