BIG TIME DISAPOINTMENT
I live in Staten Island and we have three courses and two of them are the best in the city, Silver Lake and La Tourette golf course. this past Saturday I decide to travel to Brooklyn to a course I played about six maybe seven years ago and it was in great condition, I had an incredible time, the fairways were trimmed to almost perfection and greens as well with very little imperfection, divots etc. But this time around it was a nightmare, untrimmed fairways lose the ball easily and the greens were a disaster with divots on all greens I mean terrible, and I will not mention the slow play with one group of four ahead of me took 40 minutes to play hole one,,, waste of money,,,
Slow Round
Had an 11:30 tee time, did not tee off until 12:15. They let a 5-some tee off at 11:30 on a Sunday. Course is in decent shape, but we quit on the 15th after 5 1/2 hours.
No Driving Range
There is NO driving range. The information listed above is incorrect.
Otherwise the course is perfectly average. Very slow pace of play. Conditions are just OK. Be prepared to duck and dodge stray balls from the hole adjacent to you.
A Gem Grows In Brooklyn
The Course is challenging for most golfers. The pace of play is a problem on weekends and when Golf Outings are on the schedule. Having a Par 3 for the second tends to slow things down instead of speeding it up. But otherwise the staff is friendly and I have played a half dozen times this year and mostly as a single and have met many other golfers who are just as friendly. I would recommend this course and I diffidently recommend GolfNow.com
Good Public Course
The course is in very good shape and the maintenance is doing a good job keeping it that way. Only complaint is why put a par 3 on second hole. It slows down play right at the start.
Good course
Course in descent shape. Groomers very close on several holes creating a distraction. Starter placed a walking foursome in front of us causing a very slow back nine. Staff not friendly. Pro shop staff actually rude.
B&E
The course is OK but the pace is very slow, we have to wait to tee up at every hole.
We booked our tee time for 1:45pm but did not start until 2:20pm.
Couldn't see the ball at the 18th hole at 7:25 pm.
Not Bad - Not great
The course was in OK shape but the price was great.
I would do it again, greens need a little help, airaiting was just finished so putting wasn't true on most half the holes, but not bad either.
Had a great time.
Long time coming
This course is located in Brooklyn where we don't have a great selection, but their operations and time management are absolutely atrocious. Whenever I go to Dyker I expect a 5+ hour round which isn't awful in NYC. However here I have had a number of delayed tee times and 6+ hour rounds. A bit fed up honestly. Last time I went It took us over an hour just to Tee off. Course isn't in great shape. Costs normally between 60 - 100 to play. Their only saving grace is that it's slightly more convenient geographically. Otherwise I would never come here.
Aeration
It would be nice to advise the consumer when a course does it's aeration. Greens were horrendous
Course in rough shape
The tees and greens were not in good shape at all. The greens were especially difficult because half of them were aerated and the other half not. Lots of bare spots, colleges, and imperfections.
Last minute choice
Excellent play. The staff processed the Golf Now coupon without any hesitation. The course had aeration on 5 greens but other than that the course was in great shape.
