Last minute choice
Excellent play. The staff processed the Golf Now coupon without any hesitation. The course had aeration on 5 greens but other than that the course was in great shape.
Wait for it....
Grew up on this course, but haven't played in years. It's still a 5 1/2 hour round. They just let out groups way too soon and always behind. Has a 1:32 tee time and we didn't tee off until 1:50. Course was in pretty good condition. Never pay more than $40 with a cart to play here. Bring a book to read when you wait at each tee box
Good golf course in an urban area
I like this golf course but I think they need to have couple of golf course rangers to keep up the pace of the play at a reasonable time so you don't have to spend three hours to finish 9 holes .
Far too busy
Nearly four hours to play nine holes. Never experienced such a busy course in my life. At one point there were three four balls on a par four hole.
Nice course and good value, but numbers need to be managed much better than they are at present.
Enjoyable
This course presents good challenges for all of the shots/clubs in the bag.
Convienent local track in NYC
Close to the top when it comes to amount of play. Due to its location, this track gets a ton of play. Course conditions isn't bad considering the amount of rounds this place gets. Putting greens seemed inconsistent compared to each other. Operation wise on a Saturday morning has to have more than one person working the pro shop. With a line of players out the door there is only so much one person can do accommodating players checking in with reservations and walk ups. Anyway a nice short course conveniently location in Brooklyn NY. A absolute pleasure to play if you manage an early tee time on weekends and during mid week.
Great convienent track for NYC locals
Based on today's round only. Able to score a quick 9 hole round by walking up. Since I was in the first group that went out, pace wasn't an issue. Course conditions surprisingly good considering the amount of rounds Dyker gets. Today was one of the better days compared to many I would like to forget about.
Course itself is nice, but....
This is a city course so long round times and high prices are a given. The course itself is in good shape, better than last year. The issue here is poor tee time management.
If I have a tee time at 8:45am and the course demands I get there 30 min prior to my tee time it is unacceptable to have me tee off 45 min after my scheduled tee time. You can't charge top dollar and add 1hr 15min to an already 5+hr round. How they can be 45 min behind at 845am is beyond me.
Nice Escape
Dyker Beach is a great escape from the hustle bustle of the city. During the round you have a few different spots with views of the Verrazano. The grounds are kept up for a course that gets a ton of play. We had a 10:20 tee time and the starter had us off without much delay but the round was long at 6+ hours. If you live in NYC and are looking for a nice round don't miss out on Dyker Beach.
uggggghhhhhhh
That's it I'm done with Dyker for the summer. 6.5 hour round!!!!!...... 4 foursomes on every hole. I think I seen a ranger once on the front nine but he couldn't help... It Seems like the problem is getting worse every time I play here
A nice walk in the park
A smaller parkland version of La Tourette. Fun from the blue tees and you can score at will if your short game is on target. Tee boxes are OK. Fairways are in good shape and greens are true. You'll hit every club in the bag here. Come here if your HCCP needs a bump if you are heading on a golf road trip. Its expensive for what you get and weekend rounds can be 6 hours.
I was impressed
This was the first time out for the year, and I was not expecting much from the course due to it being early in the season and the weather we have had. Well I was pleasantly surprised. The course was in pretty good conditions. The greens almost fully healed from the airation. One tee box was being repaired in the back 9 I forget the hole number somewhere around 14 the par 3 that is elevated with a gully if you don't carry to the green. Other then that no complaints what so ever. We actually played the faster round I have ever played at dyker 4 hours and 15 minutes as we only slowed up around 12, but it wasn't a huge delay.
Great Course, Poor Service
I've played this course a handful of times over the past few years, and it seems like the policies change with every visit. I was once permitted to play 9-holes during Twilight hours for around $25, including a cart, and was even given a complimentary drink as part of the package too (great!). My next visit, the pro shop employee said they never offered 9-holes during Twilight hours, and stated that we could only pay for a full 18, despite the weather being horrible that day. Forget about that complimentary drink too. The pro shop employee even had the nerve to complain about answering my questions to his colleague. Nice course for Brooklyn, but the pro shop staff provides conflicting information and inconsistent customer service.
This course is wide and has challenges
I love the course but was a little upset I was not told the 1st 9 were air rated that day. But is all great course went out at noon and finished in 4 hours. Would definitly recommend this course located in Dyker Beach Park in Brooklyn. They are doing upgrades to course so it will be really nice by this summer.
A very good NYC muni course
I would really give it 3-1/2 stars if that was an option. I like the course layout. Some very good greens with interesting shapes and contours. Nice elevation changes and layout of holes. Some challenging par threes. Nothing really stands out as exceptional but overall a solid golf course.
Pace Of Play
The Pace of Play was smooth. The course was packed (A nice day in February) and everyone came out. I usually play once a year there but if the Pace Continues like yesterday I will play there more often.
Horrible customer service for a beautiful course...
I have never taken any time out to criticize any course or its employees for most of them have been pretty fair. However, everything changed on sunday at dyker beach golf course. This guy at the register i believe his name is linden was as rude as they come. I don't think he likes his job very much and has started to take it out on people who come out for a round of golf. I do hope he finds a job where he is happy and treats his customer with the same respect that is shown to him.
great for the prize
to many leafs on course fairways and green made play longer. great customer service in pro shop..
