The Dunes At Maui Lani Golf Course

For my first time playing this course I was pleasantly surprised. The course has a great layout, with many challenging holes, the fairways were in great shape and the new greens roll real nice. If I had any complaints it would be the bunkers were not the best. But this will not deter me from playing The Dunes at Maui Lani again. In fact I can’t wait to get back to Maui and play this course with hopes of a much better score.

A great little course. Greens are in fantastic shape and the price is fair. All the holes are a good challenge with a couple that will make you work on. Lots of sand traps planned out well, some small, big, shallow and a couple oh oh how do I get out. Lots of hills, not a good idea to walk.

Not a fan of spending $100+ to play a round of golf but this is the first course I’ve felt it was worth it! This course is spectacular! Challenging but playable. Everything is so well kept and beautiful. Would recommend this course to anyone!

The course was in fine condition and the greens were cut nicely, a bit hard to hold but played fair!

The course was in great condition! The tee boxes even though brown from grass condition where cut and in very playable condition. The fairways were all n great condition and the greens even after they punched and sanded them rolled true but very slow. We used the 2 putt gimme standard and sunk a couple of 20 footers, when the greens grow in they are gonna be awesome! Wish I could be here for that! I’m headed back to So Cal Sunday Oh Well fun course I’ll play it again when we visit Maui!

Overall we had a very good round of golf. It was hot and windy and the course was fun to play. The cart attendant was very friendly and gave us all the information we needed.

The pro shop was small and the bathrooms needed to be cleaned - these were the only real negatives about the course.

First time playing here, on this beautiful, challenging course. Lots of elevation changes, uneven lies, and blind shots. Enjoyed the course enough to play again that day. Recommend this course.

Great course, lots of bunkers, and undulating greens. Tough! After the front 9 you do not return to the clubhouse, take food!

Don’t let anyone tell you cheap golf is bad golf in hawaii!! The Dunes was an awesome experience. It is sneaky challenging!! The fairways look wide open but they have strategically placed hazards in the perfect location!! Greens were awesome fairways fluffy and an overall excellent experience!!

Special mention you Kenny.. super nice and is the definition of Customer service!! I’m an Arizona golf addict and the dunes and Kenny pale in comparison to some of the service at high end courses.

We’re going to go back again on Thursday for the deals!!

Will DEFINITELY play this again!!

This course was a pleasant surprise! It plays long, challenging approach shots to the greens and even with the blind holes, it was fun. With the weather as it was, our pace of play was a smashing 3 hours. Not many golfers braving the rain today.

Pretty dumb course! Poorly managed and maintained. Way overpriced for conditions and layout. I felt it was waste of time and money.

We had virtually a windless day to try this tough course. The greens are well guarded and in good shape. You have to keep your driver and irons in play to score

This golf course is a mountain goat's dream layout.

There are few level lies here. The layout meanders among a series of dunes and swales between valleys. It rightly should be named The Swales at Maui Lani.

The fairways are thick and there are no rolls. The forward tees are in terrible condition with bare dirt instead of grass.

The greens are heavily grassed with the dreaded "Turtleback" design that is high in the center and lower all around. Most shots landing in the middle of these greens will wind up running off. They putt true but require a firmer stroke.

Many of the greens here appear to be new and they are in good condition, several including #9 are in bad shape.

There are several water hazards on this layout but the real terror is generated by the deep bunkering generously spread throughout this design.

Hole #16 has so many traps it appears as if the hole is one big trap with no fairway.

The Par three holes are relatively short but with small elevated greens and deep bunkers protecting them.

This is a tough layout playing on a calm morning. Teeing off on a windy afternoon could increase scores and lose balls simultaneously.

Great course for the money. Challenging with some great views of the mountains in the background. Fairways were nice and lush, also very impressed with the condition of the greens. All but one of the greens were in excellent shape. Great layout with a few tight fairways. Overall great course for the money!

This was a bit of a drive from the resort area but worth it. A very friendly staff and challenging course with elevation changes.

Greens were very good considering many in the area have struggled this past few months. Coursenis quite hairy and a bit hokey design. Nice little restaurant also. Will play again.
