Bridge of Allan Golf Club

About
Designed by Old Tom Morris, Bridge of Allan is a nine-hole golf course dating back to 1895. It's a layout for vista lovers, offering picturesque views of the surrounding countryside, including Stirling Castle.
Watch out for the first hole, The Dyke. Measuring 223 yards from the back tees, this par 3 requires an uphill drive over a six-foot stone wall 175 yards from the tee to an elevated green. It's arguably one of the most difficult holes in Scotland.
Don't fret if you're a high handicapper. Though Bridge of Allan will push your ability to shoot low, it won't give you a beating, and there are some birdie opportunities.
The facility also includes a small practice area and nine-hole putting green.

Lovely Course
First time playing Bridge of Allan golf course and it was a great round. Lovely course with amazing views of Stirling. Course is very hilly but it’s a lovely walk. Not the longest of courses but some tricky holes with blind shots. Will be back and recommend playing.
Excellent 9 hole course
First time playing at this stunning 9 hole course. Some tricky holes make for great fun with a couple of the holes having walls you have to make it over just in front of the greens. Enjoyed the course so much I have since returned for a second round which did not disappoint.
Amazing wee 9 hole course ... a good hilly walk !
Played with my brother .. 1st time this year as my back has been giving me grief ... super little course, some tough holes and incredible elevation changes ... pace of play was good, not too busy, got to play 18 holes .. different tee boxes give good contrast .. will play again !
Quirky Layout but Challenging
Loved the course because it was so different. Some great elevated tee to green holes however these were counteracted by a couple of blind uphill returns.
Overall a great day out (we did the 18 holes) so went round twice - local golfers very welcoming - pity the Clubhouse was (unexpectedly) closed on the Monday when the course website had it as open.
Sunday 4 ball
This is a very well looked after course and has a few challenging holes.
It is very hilly, so not suited to anyone who has fitness problems.
The views from the highest point of the course are spectacular.
A call out for the wee guy in the lounge. He made us feel very welcome and even gave us some
free biscuits with our tea.
Overall, a worthwile place to have a memorable round of golf
Beautiful course and setting
Stunning views and a really cool course. Just be warned it’s not the easiest walk with the bag. I’m 40 and pretty fit but I was absolutely blowing by the end of it. 😂 some really tricky blind drives and approach shots. Course was in good condition overall. Some tee boxes aren’t level and the 9th/18th green was a bit scabby but that’s me nitpicking. Clubhouse looked closed on my visit so can’t comment on that. Over all highly recommend but I’d take a caddie next time.
Greens need serious work
The greens bumpy and full of pitch marks.
The bunkers were full of stones. The tee boxes were in such bad condition.
The first 2 holes are so up hill that by the time you reach the top you want to go home !
Very Happy
Although a bit squeezed together with crossing fairways this course is a wee gem. Greens were in fantastic condition. All rough areas cut too. Only issue is uneven teeing surfaces and I know this is an easy remedy due to having been a greenkeeper.
Excellent and testing 9 hole course.
Views were stunning, and staff/members very friendly.
Excellent course
First time played and for this time of year course was in very good condition. Would definitely recommend and we will be back in very near future. Views were amazing for an added bonus. Excellent value for £10
Great afternoons golf
First visit to Bridge of Allan Golf Club and it didn't disappoint. A few challenging holes but a fun course.
Challenging 9 hole with stunning views
A very enjoyable 9 hole course that is in great condition. From 200 yd par 3 uphill 1st hole with a wall in front of the green to testing par 4s. A great wee course to test most casual players. Surrounding views of Stirling Castle and mountains are superb
A real hidden gem.
Really enjoyed playing this course, some fantastic holes course is in fantastic condition. Clubhouse staff were amazing, great food.
Great course only thing is 1st tee is a heck of a climb but would still recommend this course to anyone.
Stunning views, really interesting course.
Very hilly but lovely. We're 75 years old but walked carrying our clubs (we only played 9)and thoroughly enjoyed it. People in the clubhouse were extremely friendly as were the staff. Will definitely go back when in the area.
