A decent undemanding course
This is a flat course, easy to walk around without much effort, fairways were wide and in good condition and the greens also ran well. In truth it's a fairly easy course to play, ideal if you spray shots around. I was on my own behind a couple of four ball groups but they quickly allowed me through and general pace of play was very good.
Nice flat course
Played 10/9/23 but unfortunately had to walk off after 8 holes due to the weather being relentlessly wet and greens flooding etc.. I have yet to play this course when the weather is kind enough to enjoy the round. This is my third attempt playing and soaked to the bone each time. The course itself has good features and although being very flat it does have its challenges. I would like to return to play again soon and hopefully see the full potential this course has to offer in better weather and hopefully a day where it doesn't feel like a waste of green fees
Awesome day out
Had a great time playing tryst, staff in pro shop were excellent and the course was in amazing condition
Ticking off another course
Had always wanted to play here and yesterday was the day and TBH it didn't disappoint. The course condition was fabulous, although found some greenside bunkers were a tad hard underneath and with little sand near the edges. Apart from that the greens ran true and relatively fast, with some big breaks on some putts. Enjoyed the initial 2 holes and then found holes 3-7 a bit back and forth (long and straight), however, thoroughly enjoyed holes 8-18 with a fair mixture of doglegs and hazards (it did help I suppose that I played that stretch in 2 under par). Really enjoyed my experience and happy with my (+4, 71 especially as I was +6 after 6) if in the area would return
Tryst Review
Great staff, friendly and accommodating. Course in great condition and enjoyable. £20 was a bit steep but overall enjoyed playing here and will be back
Falkirk Tryst
We booked a fourball hot deal through Golf Now for £18pp which was excellent value. On arrival the club Pro informed us that the Course was firm and fast which proved to be accurate. Overall the Course was in immaculate condition. Whilst not the longest of Courses it provides more than enough a challenge for the average Golfer with the back 9 being tougher than the front 9. The only slight downside was the fourball in front of us who seemed to be playing a Medal and were quite slow going round. Overall though it was an excellent course and would definitely go back.
Better than expected
Played this course only once before when I was a boy, over 30 years ago, and I must say it’s a very nice little course, better than expected.
The fairways are very spacious and forgiving. The greens were in very good condition. My only gripe being that a few of the tee boxes were in need of some ground repair. Very friendly shop staff and members, two very nice elderly guys offered to let me and my playing partner through as they thought we were holding them up. Would definitely recommend playing here.
We played on a Saturday afternoon and the noise from the football ground was loud but I enjoyed it!
Course looking good .Greens starting to look better .Staff very friendly. Will be back
Good
Course looking good apart from greens.Greens a bit patchy in places but still early in the season plenty of growth to come once hotter weather begins. Very friendly and helpful pro shop and greenkeepers . Will be back
Falkirk Tryst Gold Xlub
Staff and members were very welcoming especially as we were playing the course for the first time. Course was in great condition and greens were excellent.
Course looking not too bad for time of year. Greens will need attention but still early in season. Very friendly shop staff. Will be back
Sadly…
The course is one I’ve played many times and I know it is very early in the golf season but they currently have no greens; they have lost them and it might be a while before they recover. There is hardly any grass on them and putting is a tortuous experience. For the members’ sake I hope they recover quickly because it is a lovely club and the course itself is very good. I cannot, at the moment, recommend it .
Packed Full Course
Being local I have played the Tryst many times. It’s a decent course, flat and a good test for a beginner/intermediate player (like me).
The course was in decent condition considering it was the end of March and the volume of rain that had fallen in the past month.
HOWEVER, it became clear to me when I got there the reason I hadn’t played it for a while. The course was YET AGAIN absolutely crammed. And I mean jam packed. The last time I played it in the summer last year I walked off after 15 holes and nearly 5 HOURS of play. The Tryst has a history of getting as many people on the course as humanly possible. Probably to make up for money lost through Covid, but there is literally no space between teeing off and players waiting to tee off straight after you. This continues tee after tee, every single hole. There are constant hold ups due to over crowding on the course, and coupled with the fact there are a lot of older clientele who take longer.
It is incredibly frustrating.
I have complained before and all I got was “Aye, we are really busy……” and a shrug of the shoulders.
Not exactly a way to attract people to play again (which I won’t).
In summary, if you don’t mind waiting over 5 mins at every hole to tee off, it’s a nice course.
If you want a relaxing game in under 4 hours, forget it.
First time playing
Great day playing here, course was in great condition considering the time of year, greens caught me out due to how fast they were, wasnt expecting that.Only minus would be having to play off semi rough but didnt spoil enjoyment of a well laid out course ,will definately pencil a round in the summer months
Excellent Winter Value
Played at the end of February. Course was in fantastic condition considering time of year and just about on the full layout with the exception of one winter green. Great value for money
Winter at the Tryst
On a beautiful crisp afternoon in larbert, there's no better place to be than playing à round of golf at one of the best courses in Stirlingshire, the courses although going through some maintenance work was in great condition the greens were fast and the fairways cur back and tidy .
Booked at short notice through GolfNow,à bargain for an afternoon of golf.
Let down
I didn't get to play the course because I made a booking for Saturday 11th February however the there's has been an error and the tee time was made for the Friday. So when myself and friends turned up on Saturday there was no space for us.
I will be looking for a full refund or credited to my account
