Washington County Golf Course
About
Located just northwest of downtown Milwaukee, Washington County Golf Club (formerly known as Family Park Golf Course) feels much further thanks to its seclusion in the beautiful Kettle Moraine area. Arthur Hills designed the course, which is ranked second in the nation among municipal golf course in Golf Digest. The layout sprawls across wide-open, gently rolling terrain. The subtle contours of the landscape provide a few difficult lies and they can also make the greens hard to read but overall it is a course that most players can approach with confidence. Thanks to a versatile layout it appeals to a wide range of skill levels and it is an ideal spot for tournaments and events. Over the years Washington County Golf Club has hosted several championships including the U.S. Open Qualifying Round and the Wisconsin PGA Championship.

beautiful summer day
Course was in good condition other than the greens. I think they had been recently punched and were a bit bumpy. Other than that, good experience overall. Thanks to the counter person who lent me a USB cord for some dying cell phone and the starter who helped us with a mix up on start times. thank you!
Hidden Gem
We love this but it is a little pricey on the weekends if you don't find a deal. We only got in 6 today before the rain. They were very good about rain checks. Nice driving range. Very scenic and challenging enough for anyone.
Not Your Standard Municipal Course
Washington County was my home golf course in high school and I love coming back to it. Arthur Hills created a wonderful golf course that uses the rolling land across every angle imaginable. No two holes are remotely the same and it can be a great challenge, especially if the wind blows. While holes 7 and 8 can get water logged easily, the rest of the course is always in prime condition. Their twilight deal is an absolute steal. Washington County has possibly the best practice facility I have ever seen at a public golf course with a large range, two chipping greens with bunkers, a putting green, and a 3-hole course that is where I grew up learning how to play the game. It's a perfect place to transition from learning how to swing a club to eventually getting on the big course which is why it is such a hit with families. Truly phenomenal facility overall.
Best county course ever played
Very challenging course! The course conditions are great! Very comparable to Fire Ridge in Grafton but cost less.
Awesome Day
Great day at Washington County. Everything about the day was great. Greens were very consistent. Pace was great.
A must play in the MKE Metro
Played this course for the first time and was thrilled at the conditions and layout of the course. Got a great deal from Golfnow and will be back as soon as I can.
Staff not happy when you use the 27$ rate.
I've no used the 27$ rate twice and have been told both very rudely that they don't have such a rate. After 10 minutes of arguing they let us go out. If you don't want people to play for that price don't put it on the website!!
5:25 minutes of my life !
The fairways were plush and green the trouble is the ball didn’t roll very far on them.
The greens were in great shape and were medium speed.
The problem is it took to long to play but I did see the ranger parked texting on his phone when he could’ve got things moving along.
Excellent course, great shape
This has always has a been a great course, but the condition was perhaps never better than yesterday. It was a
little more windy than usual, , but, a fun day, nonetheless.
Wisconsin's hidden gem
Always a treat to play! About a 35 minute drive from Milwaukee, and worth every penny. The best part is your money goes a long way. You can typically play here for less than $50 for 18 with a cart. I sometimes ask people if they have played washington county and they look at me puzzled like they've never heard of it! I devilishly almost wanna keep it that way. Always in great shape, professional staff, just awesome! On a side note, played there the morning of the 2017 us open at erin hills and washington county had a very convenient, cost effective shuttle to get to the open only a few miles away. It was one the best days of golf in my life.
Always a nice experience
It tends to be windy at this open course set high. Greens were surprisingly fast given time of year and recent rain. Really nice track.
