About
Located just northwest of downtown Milwaukee, Washington County Golf Club (formerly known as Family Park Golf Course) feels much further thanks to its seclusion in the beautiful Kettle Moraine area. Arthur Hills designed the course, which is ranked second in the nation among municipal golf course in Golf Digest. The layout sprawls across wide-open, gently rolling terrain. The subtle contours of the landscape provide a few difficult lies and they can also make the greens hard to read but overall it is a course that most players can approach with confidence. Thanks to a versatile layout it appeals to a wide range of skill levels and it is an ideal spot for tournaments and events. Over the years Washington County Golf Club has hosted several championships including the U.S. Open Qualifying Round and the Wisconsin PGA Championship.

Great Shape
I can see why they always rate this as one of the top public golf courses in the state and in the nation it’s always in great shape and Arthur Hills is one of the top architects have been playing this course since it’s been open and will continue playing it.
Washington County golf course review
Great course to walk not to many super long walks from green to tee box. Great layout some really challenging holes mixed with some good scoring holes. Try to keep ur ball in the fairway as much as possible or u will be playing from the long grass. Great course so play definitely recommend to friends and definitely will play again.

Great course
One of the best in the area. Staff super friendly and accommodating. Highly highly recommend you give it a go. Tough but fun.
Pace of play
They put people out on the back nine even when there are players on 9th green. Back nine was a death march.
One of The Best Public Courses in Wisconsin
The weather was perfect on this day. Very relaxing and pace of play was great considering it was just the two of us and it was packed . Played in 4 hours.
The course itself was in great shape. Teeing grounds are large and spacious and well manicured. So are the greens! ball rolled pretty true all day. WC gets lots of play and I thought the fairways were in very good condition. Enven though the rough was thick, I was still able to play my shots out of some thick rough.
Got a great "Hot Deal" from Golfnow.. I will be back.
Pace of play
Our foursome walks and enjoy playing early. We were unhappy to see a foursome going to the 10th tee when we were on the 9th green.
Washington County
Course was in excellent condition. Has a nice links style feel to it with rolling terrain. Relatively open fairways, average amount of bunkers,. Greens are fairly difficult with a lot of break and undulations. Played from white tees.
Hit it straight
Great course, but spent the day watching foursome ahead of us trying to find their balls in the long grass. If you can't hit it straight, play a shorter tee. 4 and 3/4 hours is too long.
The best county course in the area. One of our favorites, of any local course, to play.

We had a great time. It is a beautiful course and it was in great shape.
Nice course.
Very nice links course. The wind was not blowing very hard so it didn’t play extremely difficult as it might under different conditions. The pace of play could be better. The staff and fellow golfers were very friendly. We had a nice day.

Very difficult course, but love the challenge with how well the rough and fescue was maintained. A few too many ball marks, but the greens still rolled true! Great service.
