Course after weekend storm
Played the Monday after a weekend (amber) storm warning. Parts of the course meaning fairways had debris of leaves, branches etc. Actually lost a couple of balls searching through these debris. Not the staffs fault, could see keepers trying to clear what they could. All in all, still an enjoyable round and booked again for later this week
North Inch
Cracking course ,round in less than 3 hours ..on a Sunday ..wonderful layout ..one of the better municipal courses in Scotland..we travel from East Kilbride and its not a hardship ..Will deffo return in the near future.
North Inch Miles Better
Great course and excellent value ..fantastic condition for a municipal course..Will 100%be returning in the near future👍
Great course
I go on a regular basis and have introduced friends and family to Golf on this course . They are now keen players and come here often too .
Tidy track
Fair ways and greens were in superb condition, although the Tees could do with watering.brillant little course with some quirky holes. We all thoughrly enjoyed our round, easy walk to boot, nuff said.
Slow play is killing the game
Nice course and nice staff but the pace of play is an absolute disgrace. It is not a very long course and it is not very hilly so I think that's why a lot of older slower people choose to play this course but it's awful if you're a younger person who plays at a decent or normal pace.
There is a big issue with too many courses putting tee times 10 minutes apart which is absolute nonsense and stupidity of the highest order. There is no way in a million years a 4 ball with fat old men can play a Par 4 or Par 5 in 10 minutes, it is impossible. People will say "oh but they let you play through though", that's not the point. Why should I then feel stuck between 2 slow groups? Allowing them through is all well and good if there is space up ahead but when there isn't you just have the same issue but with a new set of slow players.
These golf courses/clubs should not be putting a 4 ball ahead of a 2 ball and there should be 15 minutes in between tee times and not 10 minutes unless you're running a golf course that is only played by scratch players.
Sort this out!
Great Round
When I read that golf had been played at this course for well over 400 years, I thought we need to check this out.
It was a typical parkland course in great condition and tricky in parts.
The guy at the starters office was very helpfull, friendly and professional.
The only constructive critisism that I could level at the place was that they could do with an upgrade to the facilities off the course. There was a coffee machine with a limited supply of sweet treats. If it was enlarged and had more on offer, I am sure that visitors would stay longer and the revenue would be greatly enhanced.
The pins are very confusing because there’s no hole layout at the Tee box aimed for wrong pin a couple of times
Greens a bit rough
For a council course North Inch is pretty good. I’ve played here a few times before but found that this time the greens were in quite poor condition, lots of bare patches and badly rolled, making putting a bit inconsistent. Otherwise it’s a nice, easy, flat course that doesn’t tax you too much. No clubhouse, just a starters hut but the pro is always friendly. For a pleasant, not-too-testing round it’s a good choice.
What a cracker!
Lovely course, and although run by the council, it was in great condition. The greens ran true. Very picturesque, as course runs alongside the River Tay. The starters' hut has basic facilities - coffee machine, cold drinks, a toilet and you can buy gloves and balls.
