Piperdam Golf & Leisure Resort - New Course
About
Piperdam Golf & Leisure Resort (formerly known as The Osprey Course at Piperdam) is so named because during the summer months, Ospreys nest at the loch that the course surrounds. The event has become such an attraction that the Piperdam Osprey Centre, an observation facility for visitors, was built. The course has a parkland style layout with water hazards and out-of-bounds stakes. Golfers are quickly introduced to the challenges of the course with the par-3 first hole, which requires a careful tee shot over water in order to reach the green. In addition to the scenic course, Piperdam Golf & Leisure Resort offers a 12-bay driving range as well as boat and bank fishing on the loch.

Pay attention to other reviews
Booked a round, very low cost
Arrived and all seemed good, small pro shop with a very pleasant chap, weekend rounds won’t ever be smooth so knew there might be some hold up’s, but:
Went to what is a shortened tee, again sadly these bits of information are lacking in golf now bookings
Two balls around and a few three’s had gone, watched the two in front of me skull tee shots on the short par 3 into the water and again with reload so my heart and head sank
They eventually finished the hole and I played over, at the point I was walking as slow as possible taking in the quite nice surrounds, and the hovered to let them get away
Played the second after waiting for ages for a bell that never came and caught them again on the third, only to see why - was six or seven other groups of 2/3 golfers spread over 4/5 holes all because a 3 ball of lads in tracksuits and sports direct clubs hunting for their 150 yard drive, was clear it was them and would have a knock on effect
It’s the sort of course that sadly a tracksuit seems ok to hack about in and lacks some finer details
Waited on every single hole for plenty of time, if it was a comp day and rammed with four balls I’d be all good with that
But it wasn’t
And as for the greens! If I went and got my car and drove it around on them I don’t think I’d be able to tell where I’d been
Good they are open as a target but they are appauling to use, bobble bobble jump jump
Bunkers have seen better days about twenty years ago
Course itself is find, but it’s really just a token effort course and certainly not for a golfer of any reasonable standard
Great course, shame about the greens
Great course layout. The shop allowed me to tee off early. Unfortunately, the greens were in a bad state with disease on all the greens removing any true putts. Apart from this, I would play it again as its a good test of golf planning.
Fun test of golf
This was my second outing here.
Staff are lovely.
Excellent value for money, as a last minute decision to go out and play somewhere.
Start is a par 3 over the loch,
The course is well laid out and continues along and back the side of the loch then continues over to the other side.
Fairways are generous and in great condition. Not many hazards. Tree lined. Greens were mostly in good condition and average speed. Not fast.
I played exceptionally well on both my outings here, 🤩 so have a very positive review of it all. Both days, luckily, were warm sunshine and little wind.
I shall definitely return with more friends next time and hope to enjoy it as much
Many thanks.
Very dry
Firstly I enjoyed my round ,the layout was good , views are good but unfortunately the coarse conditions let it down. Very dry and scalped greens . Looks like the irrigation system isn’t working with lots of overgrown and broken sprinkler heads. If this was rectified and the coarse was watered I believe the conditions would drastically improve
Busy course!
Course was decent. Staff were friendly. Only bad things were pace of play and the greens could've been a bit better. Otherwise decent course.
Greens are in very bad condition. .
Obviously with time this could change, but in July 2025 they are the worst greens I have ever seen
Hmmm
While the course was in good condition, greens looked terrible but played well. Very tricky to keep approaches on the greens as very firm. Multiple groups jumping onto course infront where no gap was and game behind constantly trying to push us along. Staff good but feel a better starter process. 2nd time playing the course and probably the last.
Beautiful golf course.
Very good golf course. Beautiful scenery. Very good club house bar
Terrible greens bone dry no groth
Terrible tees all sandy no growth
Greens were Terrible bone dry hard packed
No water
Upon arrival we went to the bar in which was very over priced. Once we T d off the course looked very tired especially the greens. The one thing that really annoyed us was the two ball in front with three guys playing from two bags this made it really slow hence a two ball walking off. Overall we were really disappointed. Any chance of a refund if possible?
Surprised by poor course condition
First time at the course. Has some good holes layout wise. But the course is in poor condition. Most of the greens are almost bald and rock hard. Tees area's neglected. Daisy's growing on some fairways. Clearly not enough investment into the course care wise. Wouldn't go back.
Could be excellent
Been meaning to play this course for a while, it gets good reviews and looks a challenge. Heading into the clubhouse and starters box the staff were very friendly and informative. The first tee gave a flavour of the course conditions, not great needs a bit of attention. This continued onto the greens, some of which were quite patchy others very good. The layout is great and shows of the surrounding countryside with the water always prominent. There can be a good walk between some holes but that’s not off putting. It’s a long course but fairly level, a good challenge.
With a bit of improvement to the tees and greens this would be an excellent course but for now needs a bit of work.
Amazing Round of Gold
Excellent standard of golf course, beautiful aesthetically, friendly staff and very well priced on GolfNow Hot Deal. Will definitely be back!
Charming views
The course had a very interesting lay out with the lake coming into play on a number of holes. Considering the lack of rain this spring, the course was in great condition.
It was an interesting and inexpensive course to play near Dundee.
