Four hour round

Golf Now time slot was placed just behind a Seniors competition. Lady at starters hut wouldn’t let us play ahead of the competition.

White tees required a long walk back behind previous green meaning slow play and long waits and a 4 hour round against a standard 3 hour for Brodick.

Views to die for

Straight off the ferry and definitely in holiday mode. Greeted extremely well in pro shop and buggy all ready and waiting. The view from the first tee sets the standard as you are confronted by the magnificent Goat Fell mountain. Two of us playing and other than greeting a few other groups betwixt holes, we had place to ourselves. Lovely parkland setting fir the most with a couple of holes straddling the bay. Greens were pretty good but slow and a few tees weren't in the best condition. But honestly, this was holiday golf at it's best and was fantastic value for money, absolutely loved it.

Interesting course

Needed to keep an eye on the course map on back of card. Layout makes good use of land features with some difficult/intimidating shots required over a couple of wide deep rivers. Fantastic views and some beautifully framed holes. Course is very flat. (Unlike all others on Arron, but equally interesting).

The course felt a little cramped in places as efforts had been made to make longer holes.

I was saddened by the lack of care taken with the course. Tee boxes were covered in divots, and so quite uneven in the teeing areas. Greens were peppered with pitch marks, new and unrepaired old ones. I felt it wasn’t being cared for properly, by the users or the ground staff.

Having said that, it was a very enjoyable course to play,, greens and fairways were in generally good. Perhaps a little more effort (eg repair pitch mark notices or divot filling buckets on tees) or encouraging members and visitors to take more care (I always repair pitch marks whether mine or someone else’s) would be good.

I’d happily play this course again.

Beautiful setting

A variety of challenging holes within a beautiful setting.

Course still recovering from the winter weather but thoroughly enjoyed the day and easy on the legs after playing other courses on the island

Great course for holiday golf with some interesting holes. Greens were excellent for the time of year. We would definitely play here again. 😊

Walked

Booked on Golf now as a hot deal as couldn’t do it on Club website as it wouldn’t show dates or tee times available. Course in reasonable condition despite a lot of rain, however the greens had recently been sanded and weren’t in great shape. Early in the season so need some heat to get some growth. On arrival at club no staff to be seen although clubhouse open. Managed to set off the alarm whilst within the clubhouse looking for staff. Great selection of holes with some fantastic par 3’s across the river. Playing with my wife who was playing off the reds and seems strange that the 12th is a par 3 at 218 yards and stroke 2, very difficult hole off that tee. Then the 17th is a par 3 at 223 yards and stroke 6, way too difficult for most ladies off these tees. Well worth a visit to play though.

Good bones that needs some TLC

There are a number of beautiful holes and lots to like about Brodick. The beachfront setting near the ferry terminal makes it a convenient place to play. Two memorable par 3s play over a natural inlet. Unfortunately, I played the course in a pouring rain and the fairways were soaked. Beyond that, you could tell the course needs some TLC to reach its potential.

Great views but not one I would play again.

The ladies toilet was in need of a good clean and loo seat needs repairing. Looked like it hadn’t been touched in months!

There are better municipals

The layout of the course is confusing and some tees were not easy to find with a long walk, sometimes back up the fairway you just played.

The tees were often uneven and in poor condition. Fairways were pretty worn and unkempt. Greens were mediocre at best. As a visitor who had never played the course before it was disappointing to find the course in such poor condition. A couple of holes had very unfair t shots. A par 3 where overhanging trees prevented a direct shot at the green and the 18th where high gorse bushes on the fairway obscured any view of the green.

Definitely not worth the full green fee of £30
