About

Holes 9
Type Municipal
Style Parkland
Par 64
Length 5034 yards
Slope 114
Rating 64.8

The Portobello Golf Course is an easily walked short parkland course in the shadow of Arthur's Seat, the oldest of Edinburgh's municipal courses. Not too taxing a golf course and fresh air blowing off the firth: ideal for a hangover morning.

The nine-hole Portobello Golf Course offers excellent preparation and won't punish you too much for your mistakes on or off the course. The par-32 course measures 2,566 yards, and features diminutive greens that beg for precision in the approach shot.

Portobello Golf Course saves the best for last, a par 3 that comes in long, at 177 yards and takes a straight long-iron to avoid its bunkers (150 yards) and reach the sloped green - you're done.

Quick round

It's a quick round of if you're short of time, course itself needs work, they have changed the layout apparently and now have back to back par threes. I can't recommend this course for any serious golfer. Go and play Musselburgh old course for a couple of pounds more.
