Dalziel Park

Overall good value for money. Varied course with a few interesting holes, especially the Par 5 9th which plays quite long with a narrow tree lined approach to the Green. The greens had been cored and sanded which meant that they played a bit slow and the ball didn’t run true. Pace of play was a little slow even though we were a fourball behind a three ball. Value of money was good at £17 each and although we didn’t try the Off Course facilities I believe these are good. Would play again as it is a nice course overall.

Nightmare

So many players out at one time having to wait 10 minutes at every tee box to hit. On top of this greenkeepers paying no attention to golfers putting nearly every hole I had a greenkeeper in a lawnmower still rolling the greens while I was putting which made for an annoying and not very peaceful experience. Walked off after 5 holes couldn’t be bothered with the slow play and hassle on the greens. Course was in decent condition and some challenging holes which was good but overall wouldn’t play again.

So slow

X2 4 balls started at b4 9 Sunday and I think they may all arrive late to work on Monday! Ruined what otherwise was a great game of golf and decent little course.

Sunday play

My review may be based on some unfortunate circumstances due to Covid , no one present for registration, no one answering the buzzer at the golf shop ,had to call the hotel reception to ask where everyone was and to get score cards ,which I was told just walk into the hotel reception and pick cards up . no names taken for my friends they only had my name (track and trace) and hire trolleys not available due to Covid which is fine but I only courses allow it .

The course was very bad with water & mud but to be fair it had a lot in the few days leading up to the game , we only ended up playing 8 holes rather than the 2 rounds of the 9 hole course which was not advertised on the golf now app.

I was disappointed as I expected a much better and professional welcome . There is no procedures to basically turn up and play as no one would notice .

Nice course

Nice course, warm welcome from starter and friendly members. Greens were quicker and the fairways were in better condition than we would have expected given the recent rain.

Slow pace of play due to a competition being on but not much that can be done about that.

Worth noting it is a nine hole course so you will play round twice if you have paid for 18.
