Fairways had thick Bermuda, going dormant, but great to play from. Photo submitted by mTTNqYkYWbhBo4Ci2qpK on 12/05/2022

I always love this place.
We got rained on for a while, but still had a great round.
Rain out
Having a good round, until the rain started. Headed back to the club house. We got a rain check and had a couple beers.
Good Course.
Nice golf course, greens are un good shape. The staff is great.
Course was wide open in the heat of midday.
First time out. Very hilly & long.
Yardage an issue if you don't carry a range finder.
No pin indicators on flagsticks.
Large greens soft & spongy. Roll true.
July heat made it tough.
Always a good time.
Never had a bad round here. Only problem we had was a 5 some slowing play down.
Home course
Learned how to play golf at Quincy. Always a great time!
Always a great time.
The course is in good shape. Hot this time of year. Stopped in for a cold one afterward.
Great Potential
I played the blue tips (no gold or blacks here) Wow the long par 3's and 4's. All I got in my bag to get there. Amazing elevation changes, for Florida. At least two holes with blind 2nd shots into small sloping greens. But if I did get on in reg, there was no real opportunity to score. The greens were very shaggy, unputtable in my opinion.
Maybe because of the end of the holiday weekend and they didn't mow as normal? But I get the overall sense of a course with fantastic potential that is cash poor and scraping by. The tee boxes are in immediate need of regrading, the cart paths need a strategic plan for improvement, the greens just need more love (they would respond well and have memory making potential).
I like the laid back take care of yourself vibe at this club and would love to revisit this course with greens that can reward the efforts to get there in reg.
Multiple large groups and slow play.
After hearing good things about this course I wasexcited to drive 1.5 hours and give it a shot.
The old guy working the pro shop was a sour puss and acted like he didn't want to deal with anyone. I will say thy lady that worked behind the bar was very friendly.
We go to the driving range to warm up and it's just yardage markers way to the left side with no references or targets. Not a big deal, but not great.
The golf carts were nice enough. No GPS, but i dint expect that at most courses. They struggled a little getting up hills and were fun to drive downhill.
The layout is pretty good with lots of elevation changes, strategically placed bunkers, forced carries over water, and some blind shots. Tee boxes were in decent shape. Some had little grass or were wet.
The rough was very punishing in areas.
Some of the fairways were in need of mowing, making it difficult to find your ball.
The greens were inconsistent, but mostly slow. The drainage isn't great. There has not been a lot of rain lately, but several were soggy and a few ofthe holes were full of water.
The biggest issue was pace of play. We got through the front 9 with little delay and finished in just 1.75 hours. On the back 9 we got stuck behind not one, but two groups of six! This shouldn't be allowed, especially on a holiday weekend. We were eventually able to play through both and then get stuck behind a foursome that had absolutely no business playing from the tips or even the white tees. They would sit in their cart and fill out scorecard before moving on, so play to take phone calls, take extra shots, etc. There is no marshall to speed things up either. We finished the back 9 in just under 3 hours. It could have been a lot of fun, but I probably won't be back.
