Multiple large groups and slow play.
After hearing good things about this course I wasexcited to drive 1.5 hours and give it a shot.
The old guy working the pro shop was a sour puss and acted like he didn't want to deal with anyone. I will say thy lady that worked behind the bar was very friendly.
We go to the driving range to warm up and it's just yardage markers way to the left side with no references or targets. Not a big deal, but not great.
The golf carts were nice enough. No GPS, but i dint expect that at most courses. They struggled a little getting up hills and were fun to drive downhill.
The layout is pretty good with lots of elevation changes, strategically placed bunkers, forced carries over water, and some blind shots. Tee boxes were in decent shape. Some had little grass or were wet.
The rough was very punishing in areas.
Some of the fairways were in need of mowing, making it difficult to find your ball.
The greens were inconsistent, but mostly slow. The drainage isn't great. There has not been a lot of rain lately, but several were soggy and a few ofthe holes were full of water.
The biggest issue was pace of play. We got through the front 9 with little delay and finished in just 1.75 hours. On the back 9 we got stuck behind not one, but two groups of six! This shouldn't be allowed, especially on a holiday weekend. We were eventually able to play through both and then get stuck behind a foursome that had absolutely no business playing from the tips or even the white tees. They would sit in their cart and fill out scorecard before moving on, so play to take phone calls, take extra shots, etc. There is no marshall to speed things up either. We finished the back 9 in just under 3 hours. It could have been a lot of fun, but I probably won't be back.
Love this place.
Always love playing here. Beautiful scenery, challenging course, and good off course bar and restaurant.
Challenging course
The course is challenging with all the hills and ravines. It is currently in decent condition. The greens are rolling slow, so it's hard to get the ball to the hole sometimes. Overall, we had a great round, and stopped for a couple cold ones at the bar.
Nice course, good value.
Nice course, good value. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The course condition was good to very good. Greens were in nice shape. Always enjoy playing at Quincy.
Great play for the pay!!
Staff was ready for me. I met another player that was a member in the past and he whipped up on me 😊 I would play there again when I’m in town.
Nice course.
I would recommend this course. The greens are a little slow.
Quincy Golf Club
The fairways was in good condition. The pace of play was excellent. The only negative thing is the condition of the greens. They are bumpy and patchy. I think this is do the removal of invasive grass that was removed. I would play again for the golfnow price.
Jumping Greens
Fairways in good shape, but could use more regular mowing. 1/3 of the greens each had hundreds of baseball diameter dead spots making your ball bounce into the air on putts. All water coolers on the back 9 were empty.
Good for money
Good course good layout really good if you like playing off concrete supper hard grounds
Enjoyed playing the course.
As with most courses in this area. the greens are in need of a little work due to the winter we've had. The up and down (hilly) fairways were in good shape and challenging. Would (and have) recommend the course to others.
Nice Course
Nice course, nice layout. The greens are a little slow and bumpy. Pace of play is normally really good. On this particular day, it was a little slow.
Enjoyable round
As always, we had a fun and enjoyable round of golf. The greens however, need some work. They still rolled pretty well, but have multiple brown spots that I fear will cause problems in the future, if not dealt with.
Nice course
The greens are a little bumpy and on this particular day the pace of play was slow. Normally the pace of play is pretty good.
