Golfer Reviews
Great time!
Had a wonderful time at GCoH for our friend Bobby’s birthday. Course was in great shape especially the greens. Only issue we had was with the starter asking us to pay for an extra cart b/c 2 of us didn’t want to share a cart due to Covid19. What a joke!?! Other than that, a great place for the price we paid thru tee off!!
Nice but difficult
I’m a high handicap and although it was a nice course I didn’t enjoy it as much as a less than course. Would have had a much better time playing best ball with a friend. Still very nice conditions and would recommend at least once to humble you
GCOH Tournament Course
Still one of best courses in Houston for public plan. Staff is very friendly and courteous. If you’ve never played I recommend putting on your bucket list.
Big beautiful golf course-impeccably maintained
A little intimidating the first round played last week but returned this week because the course is challenging, beautiful and so well manicured.
Started on the White tees but soon realized the Red tees would play better for me due to the distance over primitive areas on some holes. (Female golfer 12 Hdcp).
Dropped 4 strokes on second round knowing better how much extra club to take for hazards/humidity/wind etc.
Bottom line:
Really enjoyed the rounds here and will play again on my next trip to Houston.
This is a top notch course!
Tough course with wind
This was second time playing course. Played tips both times. The wind made it significantly harder. Nothing beats playing where the PGA played.
Always a great experience
The Club of Houston has everything I want from a golf course. Nice driving range and practice green, comfortable club house, and very well maintained conditions on a reasonably challenging layout. There are several holes with greenside bunkers that make me think about where to aim. Some greens can be tricky but I find all of them reasonable.
The one thing I recommend for your first visit (presumably why you are reading this) is getting a yardage book or GPS with visual aid. There are no pictures of the hole layout on tee boxes or the score card, so on my first visit, I did not know where to aim my tee shots on some holes.
