Shorecliffs Golf Club
About
Shorecliffs Golf Course wanders through the coastal canyons and valleys of San Clemente, heading towards the beautiful shoreline. Situated just steps from the ocean, the course enjoys cool ocean breezes and a temperate climate, which makes it a year-round haven for golfers. Its location also provides the golf course with plenty of scenic ocean views. The course features narrow fairways tightly lined with trees and small greens bordered by sand bunkers. The front nine is shorter and requires more accuracy than the longer, wider back nine. Shorecliffs opens with one of the trickiest par-5s in the area. This dogleg left hole features trouble both left and right. Although the layout does offer a fair challenge, players of all skill levels will feel comfortable taking on the golf course.

Golfer Reviews
Fun, fast play, and very challenging
I really enjoyed my game here. Grass was in decent shape, greens were fast and recently punched with minimal sand on them. Layout had a lot of uphill and downhill type play with a few very narrow holes at 200 + yards total length. I'm an average handicap mens golfer and played at a bogey average and had one par. The 3 people I played with were much better and more accurate than me and they mostly played at a bogey average also with 3 or 4 pars total. We all lost at least 2 to 4 balls. If you don't hit accurately when driving here you will lose the ball as the side vegetation is dense. Pace of play was normal for a Monday (2hrs for the first 9 and 1.4 hrs last 9). Golf carts were modern and new. It's a nice course and I would play it again for sure.
Decent course
Pretty narrow front 9 which was fun. A few tee boxes were under repair which is good to see but not great if you were playing. Course was fun and greens were very challenging. If they could find a way to install a small driving range or an area to take practice swings that would really help [Monarch Beach has two or three swing stalls that could easily be installed here]. Bottom line is we will definitely go here again.
Nice club house
Club house un available because someone rented it to teach a business class ? The course is in lousy shape, too convoluted driving from home to home. The fairways were terrible ! I would not recommend this course to anyone . It’s way over priced and lots of better courses to play. Disappointed.
Great value for the money
This course is kind of short and pretty forgiving, for these reasons it is a good fit for me and also close to home. Easy to book tee times.
Needs work
First time playing, uaually find myself in SD county. Course is in rough shape. Mud/ground under repair/uneven ground etc... on every fairway. Most tee boxes sit on uneven ground. Probably the worst value for money course I've played in SoCal.
Staff was excellent, parking lot and clubhouse great as well hence the two stars. Hope they can figure it out, price is way too high for the experience offered.
If you are trying to quit golf, this course is for you.
The worst course I have ever played. It seems like every time I play here I tell myself I will never go back. Then after around 3-6 months, I get stuck wanting to golf, but not being able to find a tee time, except for this place. They got me again... Once again, after having paid $90, I was sent on my way to a frustrating, 5.5 hr round. I get it, a lot of courses are dormant right now, but this course is next level dormant. Instead of the grass being brownish/green, there just isn't any grass to begin with. The tee boxes are all dirt, and the fairways are scarcely scattered with lily pads of grass patches, and the greens are worse than just being completely dirt. Because there are patches of inconsistent grass throughout the green, you might as well pick up your putts because you're only hurting your game by playing here. I actually felt like I got worse after playing here. If you are trying to quit golf, this course is for you.
Management at Shorecliffs Shows Little Care for Patrons’ Concerns
The management at this course has been given numerous complaints and negative reviews because of a Marshall they insist on keeping on staff and who harasses, curses, and cusses at golfers. He goes by “Skip” and management is aware of how his behavioral issues and they won’t do anything about it. — The course experience here is already so bad, and this guy is out there thinking he is a big shot on a dog track. He explicitly cursed at golfers and that is completely unacceptable at any place, much less on a golf course where we come to have a good day and have fun.
Seabreeze
This was my first time on the course and I saw the three star rating but wasn’t to sure why. I wanted to make my own assessment since I am 11mo new to the game. The course is difficult!!!…for a mad slicer like me. You must shoot straight and the course is narrow. I will say the pace is amazing. No pressure. The cart girl is amazing. The club house staff is amazing. Ended the day with a cheeseburger and beer. Overall I would return once I fix my slice. Hope this helps.
Shorecliffs is worth 50$ no more!!!
Stop acting like this course is worth 90-100$. Just played 2 courses In Palm Springs 100times better for 80$ haha. Just bring your price down 50-60% and every tee time will be filled again like back in 2021
A little rustic but just needs to grow in.
Improvements are on the way but tee-off boxes in rough shape. Greens are pretty good though.
Front nine very tight but back nine opens up.
Marshalls were on the course and the staff in general were very helpful!
I'd go back but would warn any big hitters that need some room to stay away.
