About
Bartow Golf Course is a municipal course that offers an affordable yet challenging round. The course has a classic design with an interesting mix of holes that range from being wide open to narrow and tree lined. The postage-stamp-sized greens demand accuracy and there are also a few strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. Build up your score on the front nine before tackling the tougher back nine. The golf course has enough challenges to keep more advanced players satisfied but it's forgiving enough to appeal to beginners as well. One of the most memorable holes is the par-3 13th. There is a tree that stands right in the middle of the fairway, forcing you to either go over or try to get around and risk going in the sand trap.

Great time
Greens didn't look fast but had a moderate pace to them.
Over-rated
Played this course based on some previous reviews. Most greens were in terrible shape. Some bunkers didn't have enough sand while others were soft or hard sand. Will not be back.
Great course to work on your game.
I really enjoy playing here. I always play early afternoon. Pace of play is always fast. It's a very forgiving course, wide open fairways. Greens roll nice. They are doing some maintenance to a couple greens. It is an excellent course to work on your game. And the cost to play here, you can't beat it.
Open course no water hazards.
the course is fairly open with no water hazards but i thought it played long. i played early afternoon and the pace was very slow. very busy with several slow foursomes ahead of me. i had to quit after 14 holes do to time.
Wooly Greens
Coarse was busy on a Wednesday afternoon. Looked like mostly Senior Citizens were out! Greens were slow and wooly. We got done in 4 hours. Paid 10 bucks so we couldn't complain to much. Got done at 4:30, couldn't get any food at restaurant. Was interested because it was packed when we got there. Pretty much got what we paid for.

Good course. Management of course was not that good. Greens was very nice. Had to wait on carts
Great Value Nice Cours
What a great hidden value in Bartow. Nice track, great course conditions. You cant beat the price. Ill be back.

this is a very bad course !!
Maybe I was there at the wrong moment, but a lot of drinking on and of the course !!
Bad tee box, bad greens, fairway with a lot off holes and divots, very slow play.
Stopped after 9 holes....
10 $ per player was not even worth it !!

Good value
With all the rain we have had in the Lakeland, Bartow area the course was in very good condition. Fairways were good and greens were rolling true. There were some wet areas but none that came into play if you stayed in the fairway. Was first off in the morning and played in exactly two hours.
Nice, Moderate Course
The only difficulty we had was that the greens had been recently aerated and were quite slow. Other than that, it was an enjoyable round.
OK Muni course

Nice enough to let me play thru. Old course with many great trees, that can put you in jail. Not a fan of the raised, domed greens, but that was the design in the day. Visiting Lakeland so trying different courses in the area. Played for $20 with cart, so good value. Would probably not play here again and would try other courses.

The tee boxes were down due to an early morning tournement
I was having a great time although all the tees were removed due to an earlier tourney. When I came around to hole 14, all the sprinklers were on... Come on it was only 3:15p.m. When I shortened my day, and informed the pro shop, they said nothing and continued to sign in the next person. I am just amazed that I golf a few times each week, and rarely do my golf days go without issue. Maybe I have a black cloud over my head. Well regardless, I will keep swinging and simply learn to accept those things that are out of my control. On a good note, considering the lack of rain, the course was in fairly good condition with exceptional fairways...

This course is one of the best for the value that we have found in this area. I booked through Golf Now but for what I was charged by Golf Now which was more than what I paid when I booked the same 18 hole round right in the pro shop so not a great deal. Only complaints is that the dining area closes a 2pm and that is way to soon.
Not really my favorite course.
Considering the time of year and traffic on the course, it is in pretty good shape. All.employees are pleasant and equipment in satisfactory condition. To be quiet frank, I do not care for the built up, domed greens. Better courses do not have this type green on every hole. No doubt I will probably play more golf there anyway.
Greens were the best we have seen in this area
Exceptional value for your money. Greens and fairways are in great shape. Pin placements made the course that much more difficult. Enjoyed playing here and will be back soon.
Slow play
The corse is in fair condition considering all the play it gets. Unfortunately the play is at a snells pace. I see a lot of five and sixums wich slows the pace as well. I think the ranger could do a better job. Oh wait, I didnt see a Ranger.
Good Value
We booked an 8:30 tee time and got off right away. The course was in good shape and we got around in 3 hours. We got an excellent rate through GolfNow and look forward to playing the course again.
Great Course
Very Friendly Course...wide fairways...the 10th is a challenge I will golf here whenever I get the chance
