Save the frustration for another day
If you're a good player, you'll love the course. If you're like me - that is to say lousy with occasional flashes of brilliance (and an equal amount of cheating), you can still love this course, but you must resign yourself to the idea that you're dating above your station, so to speak. I was lucky enough to play alone today and one I played through the only foursome on the course, I was alone. There are no flat lies on this course (to include 3-foot putts), but that is the result of the breathtaking landscape into which the course is carved. I lost 6 balls today (lousy as I am, that's an anomaly), because the rough is rough, and thar be snakes in them woods! At a certain point, I felt that feeling we all feel, and then I looked up. And I saw a par-5 that reminded me of a Bob Ross painting, lots of happy little trees and a fairway that journeyed off into the distance. I put away my concerns for any flashes of brilliance, cheated a little more than usual and enjoyed tender fairways, undulating greens and elevation changes that forced me to take photos at every opportunity. Play the course, and if you're good, it'll push you. If not, relax and take it in.
Super friendly staff, made it easy to find my way. I'll be back.
Snails pace
The starter got our foursome out early so we were anticipating an early finish, but it was not to be. The foursome ahead of us was drinking and the marshal came by on hole 15 to check a complaint from behind us. We weren't being pushed and were keeping up so we let it slide even though tree were two open holes ahead of the offending group. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
Great course, great staff
It was a quiet day at the course and I was immediately greeted in the parking lot upon arriving. The starter was incredibly friendly and helpful in getting me set up with the pro shop and driving range. They had a cool little chipping facility next to the driving range that I enjoyed as well.
The course was beautiful with an abundance of elevation changes making club selection vitally important. Many of the greens are well protected with some obvious sides to bail out on if you aren't feeling particular accurate.
Overall I loved this place. The only thing that could have improved this course would have been me being a better golfer... I really explored the whole course.
Narrow and long
The is not for beginners course. Having extra balls is beneficial. It was very fun for a 86+ golfer. Just hard. It is called Branson Hills for a real reason. The hills and water is everywhere. I'm sure after 3/4 times of playing the course I might break 90.
Course is beautiful and was in marvelous shape. My wife and I have played over 300 courses throughout the US and this is right up with the best of them. Interesting fairway grass with sharp edges and don't know if the grass type or recent rains were responsible for seeming lack of roll. Only real complaint was that the course required a lot of hilly walking even when riding a cart. This was tough for us old geezers. However, the sheer course beauty and condition more than offset the complaint. Played in 3-1/2 hours and it was like playing our own private course.
Great Course
This is really a great course to play. Other that the sand traps being completely washed out and having to play as cart paths only my wife and I really enjoyed the course.
Very Nice Branson Hills Golf Course
Very friendly staff. Beautiful course. Nice layout and well maintained.
Very nice
The first thing that stood out to me was that I saw no houses the first 5 or 6 holes. Then I saw maybe 2 or 3 after that and they were kind of overlooking not on the fairways and were very expensive looking.the course was very good and in good shape all around. I started playing by myself but a couple of groups let me play through and then a man and woman let me join them the last 8 holes.i was well pleased with everything. Would play again.
Beautiful course
Keeping in the fairway is a must. Lots of woods and cheeks. Dramatic elevation changes. Beautiful views. Course is in great condition despite recent heavy rains. Greens are in good shape. Several are very large with lots of texture. A bit pricey for the midwest but worth it especially if you can get an on-line discount.
Difficult, yes but a beatifully designed course.. If you appreciate great views and very interesting layout, this course is a must.Great conditions.was the highlight of our trip to Branson
Keeping in mind that rain has plagued the area for quite some time, this day was beautiful weather wise and the conditions of the course weren't really that bad; course design and superintendent management should be credited. Play was very slow with several foursomes (it was an annual gathering) but finally by the 17th hole had surpassed them all. Not really keen on their idea of trying to charge a $25 cart fee for a rider/non-player; that's b.s.
A must play
Beautiful course, great layout, very well maintained, also good food at there restaurant. Beverage cart was out and I was never thirsty. Will definitely play again when we return
Beautiful Course
This is one of the nicest courses I have played on. It was challenging but forgiving. The staff were wonderful and accommodating.
Spectacular course
Awesome course with an incredible and challenging layout!!!
Course was to wet and aerated.....
First of all the course was to wet.... customers should know when it's cart path only. Secondly customers should know when the course is aerated.
Blind start
Well we checked in and nobody said a word about the greens being punched......or Cart Path Only....or No Handicap flag or privileges........Thank God I'm a a priority member of Golf Now....Cancelled our second round Promptly AND HAD I KNEW THE CONDITIONS....I would of cancelled this Round as well.....way to long for senior ladies and Senior men would best be warned to play the Orange front tees.....The course plays 600 yards plus....long.....Pretty to look at and by far this is not the best course in the "Show Me State"..........Golf in Branson is like Orlando in The Winter.........WAY OVERPRICED.......
