Major improvements!
Greens are fantastic!!!
The course is improving all the time. The green staff are doing great things.
Half the course closed
Unfortunately only able to play 9 holes and even though we got some money back to play the course in the future it doesn't compensate for the travelling we where offered to go round the 9 holes again but would have had to wait for over an hour as all the slots between the first 9 and our second 9 were booked and the course was observing strict social distancing(rightly so) so like so much this year an unavoidable disappointment!
Unfriendly experience
Played here with my brother.
Tee off time 9:40. Arrived at first tee at 9:45 and were immediately harassed by female members waiting at the tee box.
The sign that said that holes 6-9 were under construction was lying flat on the ground out of view, so we played hole 6. A passer by told us the holes were unplayable, so we returned to tee box 10. The ladies who were already there kindly told us to join after them. However, after they teed off, the next four ball of female members arrived and were distinctly unpleasant.
When I explained to them that we hadn't seen the sign as it was lying face down, one of the lady members turned up her nose at me, and waved me away with a flick of her hand.
Two separate four balls of female members who were distinctly unfriendly - and who only added to the cliche and negative image that golfers are snobs.
We won't be returning, which is unfortunately because the first time I played the course I got my first hole-in-one on the 12th hole.
Myself and three friends played the course on 30th August 2020 following booking via golfnow the previous day. Upon arriving at the course we were told that 5 holes were closed; meaning that we could only play 13 holes - however we were offered the opportunity to replay 5 holes making up the 18.
The course itself is a great course, with a few very challenging holes; and for that reason I’d recommend to friends etc.
However, I was disappointed with the hole closure, and more disappointed that we were not notified of this at the time of booking; or at least the morning of play. If we had of been told we probably would have booked a different course.
I’m grateful for the offer of replaying different holes; however not the same as playing a proper 18. Perhaps better communication on closures etc to bookers either via the course themselves or vi the app would help.
Nice course but only informed of five holes not open when we arrived
This was the first time I played at Banbridge. I arrived and was told by a member of staff that five holes were closed off and not playable (5-9) during our round. I was not informed of this when the booking was made. Overall I was happy with the facilities and the course was in great condition (pity about my round! Haha)
First round as a guest after lock down eases
Bandbridge golf course has always been a favourite of mine. But this has been my first time playing it since their new greenkeepers have been employed and it has made such a massive difference. The Course is great and very well maintained.
Even with all the social distancing measures in place, the staff and members are very friendly and helpful.
Bank holiday golf
Greens just been sprinkled with sand so made some “unnatural “,although helped with one overshot chip
Greens were unplayable
No sprinkler system on entire course, was like puttin on tarmac
Not for a Saturday afternoon
The course was in great condition to be fair. My only gripe is that it’s very compact with greens and tee boxes very close etc. And unfortunately on the Saturday we were there, they are encouraging kids to play but they were everywhere and cutting holes etc to the point where people had to walk off.
I would go back mid week but give it a wide birth on a Saturday

First time I have played this course and I was happy to return afterwards. our 4 ball took just over 4 hours as we had no one in front or behind. course was in excellent condition and I would recommend this course to anyone who has not played before
