Well worth a visit
First time playing this little 9 hole course, it could use a bit of tlc, the greens weren't great, but all in all it was enjoyable.
A few short par 4s after teeing off its just a pitch onto the green, giving you a great feeling of accomplishment.
I'll definitely play again, considering the heavy rain, the course played pretty good.
Very poor condition
The course is a state. There are no signs to tell you what hole you're on (apart from the 5th & 7th) so you have to guess for the rest. The greens are in absolute but. There's litter everywhere. Wouldn't recommend.
9 hole for practice
This is the 9 hole course not the main 18 hole. It is ok for a quick practice round or if you want to start golf without worrying about hacking up a course. Problem with a non golfers playing out of a single bag slowing up the course. Cheap to play but you get what you pay for.
Lovely course
This course is lovely, reasonably flat, obviously some bumps along the way to make it a bit harder but its nice to not constantly be walking up hill then down hill and so on, its very well maintained, the greens are always in great shape, staff are lovely and helpful, theres also never a queue for teeing off which is a great bonus
Not a great course
First and only time playing this course I was passing through the area and had some time to kill so thought I’d pop in and play a quick 9 holes. Firstly got stuck behind a gent teaching his two young grandchildren to play, they took about 7 shots each making a grand total of 50 yards. While I appreciate everyone has to learn, I think this set the standard for the day really. Thankfully I was waved through and continued on. Managed to drive the green from the first tee and was pleasantly surprised to then learn that this was a par 4 hole, until I got to the green that was. Terrible condition and just about impossible for any mid to long putt. This set the tone for just about every single green, each one of them resembling Dresden in the 1940s they were that bad. This made putting next to impossible all day. The course itself is a decent layout, with six par 4 holes and three par 3s it certainly has a lot of potential to be a very good course if it was maintained but between losing a couple of balls smack bang in the middle of the fair way to losing a ball to a pretty sizeable hole on the 8th green, it would be fair to say this course is just not looked after.
For a tenner though I want to say you can’t expect much more but having played the likes of ballyearl for a pound extra and seeing what great condition it’s kept in, this course has a lot of wasted potential.
Staff were lovely and friendly and couldn’t fault them one bit and although the pace of play was shocking, I was in no real rush and happy to wait but a few groups did let me okay through which was much appreciated.
Good course for a beginner learning and practicing distance combined with accuracy off the tee but putting here would even send Tiger Woods up the wall.
Course has improved
Good fairways, though some greens needed watered badly with the the warm weather
Good for practice and short game
9 hole
Great little course , easy to navigate.. recommended
Enjoyable 9 hole course
Good 9 hole course.
I’m new to golf and think this course is good if not great especially for £10. Was in good condition but wish they would update the numbers for each hole.
Staff friendly.
Thankfully cut grass
Course looked really well. Thankfully they cut the grass. It makes it a brilliant course to play. Especially for beginners .nothing worse than trying to find and hit your ball out of thick rough. Good job
Good enough especially for beginners
Decent enough course and I enjoyed it (I’m a beginner). Definitely needed the staff in the club house to give me directions on course layout or I would have been lost however, luckily they draw me a simple map. Definitely needs a bit updating (new flags and number every hole), but cheap and I would play again for more practice.
No map on score card
Course lay out so confusing ladies tees are green gents red..No layout map on score card or even numbers on the tee boxes..short tight course and slow players in front of us held up play but the group behind kept teeing of on top of us..staff were lovely . Condition was ok considering the volume of rain
