I do love all the ducks. I just feel bad bc this course attract a lot of beginners, and I have literally seen a player whack a ball straight at one of the ducks who I definitely don’t they made it to see another day Photo submitted by Chupapi7 on 03/20/2023

practice round
Course design is great, course conditions are really bad...Staff could not be more friendly, got teed up with two nice gents, had a good practice round.
Impressed
Over the last couple months this course is shaping up under new ownership. The pace of play was very good but it was an early tee time and it tends to back up later in the day. The greens were the best I have ever seen. They have also invested in new carts. Keep up the good work, cant wait to see what this course has to offer us in the future.
great little treasure
This is a great little treasure in Mission Viejo. Easy to walk, good play for both beginners and advanced golfers.
Conditions were quite good, especially the greens. Sand traps recently had sand added and are difficult at this time.
you can't beat the golf here, especially at the price.
Staff was Great
Had reservations but when early to see about getting out sooner staff was great and accommodated me in all aspects.
Nice course and good layout
Thos is a very nice course good layout it's a good course to practice short game.
Been playing "Casta" since they opened in the early 70's
Yes Date built 1970. Having grown up in Mission Viejo and being a junior golfer you had to play "Casta." In junior high, our moms would take us over after school and we would play it at least once a week, normally finishing 18 in the dark. Great times and the course was always in good shape back then and fun to play, executive and yes, #16 was a par 4. I still dont understand how a course that was there "BEFORE" the condos and houses were built along the edges could be sued to have #16 changed to a par 3. Ruined a fun hole. Anyways, fast forward to prior the City of MV purchasing it. Played it once in awhile, the course wasnt what it once was in my book but since the City purchased it, man it's gotten to be like the old times. Played today, good pace, and the greens were the best I've seen them. Period. Green Green! They held, were very smooth and fast. The rest of the course was typical "can kill ya" grass, some dry patches but over all better than most of the lower end public courses in South Orange County. Granted this is an exec course, its a really good place to work on your iron play and definitely your putting. Also like what they've done with the check in area, new carts and the improvements to the patio. Also needed the name change to Oso Creek Golf Course. My only real complaint and this has existed since day one, something needs to be done about #9 the par 4 and the swale with the drain ditch. Longer hitters can hit driver up to the face of hill below the green, but everyone else the tee shot is very difficult to keep it from flying or rolling into the ditch which is always full of water and we were wondering how many balls are lost there daily and end up in the pool below the ditch. Need to put an underground culvert in there and flatten that hole out. Other than that, the fun is back at Casta
Fun short course
Had a good time playing. The greens are the highlight. They're in great shape and they were fast and challenging. This course is a no brainier, go out and play some cheap golf!
Nice improvement
Nice improvements to the course. Great atmosphere when you walk it. Friendly staff. Greens were in very good shape; very nice executive course now. Only drawback is 4.5 hours to play a part 60 course.
Nice executive layout
It is obvious they are putting money and attention into this executive course. The greens were great. Still some patchy hard pan in areas on the fairways. A lot of the thick rough around the drainage ditches has been cleaned out
