I do love all the ducks. I just feel bad bc this course attract a lot of beginners, and I have literally seen a player whack a ball straight at one of the ducks who I definitely don’t they made it to see another day Photo submitted by Chupapi7 on 03/20/2023

Little jewel
Despite no par 5's & lack of driving range, this is an OC best kept secret that is fun & challenging in a beautiful setting. A great value I've taken advantage of often.
Small, Local Course
This is a small, local course that is cheap to play and easy to get on with a spur of the moment decision. The tee boxes and greens were maintained well but the fairways were a bit overgrown in spots. Overall, this is a moderately challenging course for golfers looking to shape up their iron game with mostly Par 3's and a handful of short Par 4's.
Just the right course for seniors and casual players like us.
Fun course great value
A fun executive course that can be played for a great value. Pace can be a little slow, but hey, your golfing. My local go to course for practice.
Go with confidence
As far as executive courses go you will not find too many as nice as Casta in OC. I play here every Sunday and its a great course for the price. Pace of play can be an issue in the afternoon, but overall its fairly good. Pars 3's and 4's with enough challenges left and right and water to keep you honest. If you want a fun round and bring a good attitude to the course, this is the course for you. Cheers!
Aerification
So a course was chosen carefully, but Casta del sol was also open time of Aerification. There was no advisory! indication on your site.A person in a golf course felt it was regrettable by good people, and discounted.
golf
the wait was just to much . the two some we were playing with and us and the 4 some in front of us only played 9 holes as it was way to slow. they said they would not come back because of the slow play. also they would not permit carts on most of the front 9.
Great for short game
This course is great to practice your short game. Playing here had really improved my game around the green. Allows you a round of golf at or under 4 hours. Fun course with some challenge to it.
Casta golf
Casta during the week is one of the best bargains in golf. If you need practice with your irons ... this place is for you.
Great Value just a little slow
I play here often and pretty much always have the same experience. Super cheap (If you play twilight like I always do), but pace is poor. Wish the Marshall would tell people to speed things up instead of just driving around. Other than the pace the course is perfect for the price.
Great Value
The course is in great shape and a 4 pm tee time for $14.99 with a cart is amazing. This is a par 61- 18 hole course and it moves pretty good - we finished at 2:45 minutes. Behind a group of walkers. The gent behind the counter in the pro shop is no nonsense and abrupt though polite - weird. Bartender is a hoot. No on course sales person on weekday evenings so bring something or buy in the bar.
Our home course.
My foursome are at home at the Sol. We play here at least once a week. Always a good deal and after 3pm it's only $19 and you get a free drink. Get a great grilled hot dog at the turn! Great amenities.
Great Course
I played this course while in town on vacation. I lived in the area, but never played this course. I wish I had though! This course was fantastic. Compared to Midwest courses, this course was above par (no pun intended). Very open but not like a links stlyle course, you still have to keep it between the uprights and not go pounding out drives that fade or slice. The greens were super fast and hard to read. Another post mentioned the sand traps and to stay out of them. They were right. 1st tee off landed in the sand with a high wall and broke me off first thing into the round. Overall, one of the top courses I've played in the country so far and will be hard to beat in my opinion. They paired us up with two other guys which were at our skill level and we had a blast. The ladies behind us were kicking butt and right on our tails, so this isn't a "gentlemens" course where you are having to kill 500 yard drives. Loved it, I'll be back!
how do i get a Players Club discount?
I have been told twice that i have to get a tee time on line to use my Players Club discount. However, no one seems to know how to do that. I called Lake Forest and they sebt me to contact Casta Del Sol. I called Casta Del Sol and they sent me to Lake Forest, but later said to go GolfNow. I did that and got the same tee time procedure that i got by going to Casta's web site.
How do i get my discount?
Blessings,
Fred
Great Place
Awesome course! Great people, great course conditions!
Casta del Sol
This course is only Par60. It's a good course for beginners and intermediate class golfer. Friendly staff.
Good short course
Always enjoy playing here. Not long but great to practice your shorter clubs.
High Quality Value
For a short course (par 60), the quality of the course is well worth the cost to play. A great value and a well managed course for a quick play of 18.
Execellent Staff
Easy to get to and staff was friendly. Rate of play was excellent.
