About
The 27 holes at Spanish Wells Golf & Country Club sprawl through a landscape of swaying palms, towering pines, and mature live oaks. Located in Bonita Springs, the club offers some of the most scenic holes in southwest Florida. The numerous water features are difficult to ignore, coming into play on almost every one of the club's holes. The holes are played in three 18-hole combinations. The South/North golf course is a challenging but fair layout that features strategically placed bunkers and several doglegs. The club's signature hole is the North nine's second. This scenic par 3 plays to a well protected green that features a bunker on the right, and out-of-bounds to the left. In addition to the three golf courses there is a practice facility with a driving range, pitching and chipping areas, and two large putting greens.

Poor course condition and poor marshals
I did not like the course and will not play again. North nine was not in good condition, however the greens were good. Poor design leaving only one way to play most holes. South course was better and better fairway conditions. Group ahead of us was very slow and the marshals did not do anything about them.
Take of two nines
Overall the tee boxes were in bad shape. East nine the green were average speed and the north nine very very fast creating a lot of 3 putts. When we finished the east nine the pace was so slow we got behind a group starting on the north clogging things up more. No GPS on the carts so you don’t know where the water is and there was a lot. Won’t be on my list in the future.
First round
I played the North/south courses. The north was short tight and tricky. Narrow with not knowing what was ahead left me with some bad positioning for my next shot. The south course much easier to read I nice day and paired with nice people
Golf Day
The course was in good shape and we enjoyed our time. Golf staff in clubhouse was fabulous, energetic, helpful and pleasant to work with. Bag drop and cart employees were busy and attending to who they knew first and not by tee times. we were fortunate to find a gentlemen to help us after 15 minutes of waiting. disappointing that no beverage cart was on course that afternoon with 90 degree weather. After making the turn at 4;30 snack shop was also closed, however, lady was closed and asked us if she could help as she hadn't closed the till yet. she was wonderful. After making turn and got to East 1 a twosome teed off and single was on the tee waiting. Certainly thought someone from pro shop would have informed them to wait till last group from south nine made the turn before going. That was extremely frustrating as i have pro shop experience and know the protocols.,
East/North
The layout and conditions of the east course are very good. The layout of the north course is poor. The first and seventh holes are 2 of the worst holes I’ve ever played and the condition of this course is inferior to the east. I’ve never played the south course (I think it is saved for Members - who probably want to have nothing to do with the North. Staff is very friendly and makes you feel welcome.
Pace of Play was horrible
First 9 took 2:45 to play. When we made the turn there were 4 groups on the hole waiting.
