Aberdeen Golf & Country Club

Aberdeen Golf & Country Club is in absolutely pristine condition. The practice facilities are a clear 10/10; the driving range feels brand new, and the massive practice green perfectly mimics the speed and feel of the course. A standout touch is the dedicated stretching station—a lifesaver for my sore hip flexors after the round.

The course itself is highly challenging, featuring tight fairways and abundant water hazards. My driver wasn't dialed in, and the course penalized me heavily for it with six penalty strokes. From tee to green, the conditioning is flawless. The greens are firm, making it tough to hold approach shots, so the trick is to land them short and let the ball release. While they ran a bit slow, the lines held incredibly true—if you read it right and commit, you will hole putts.

"Agony Alley" absolutely lives up to its reputation. The par-5 4th hole is one of the coolest risk-reward designs I’ve seen, offering an aggressive option to hit into an island fairway to shorten the hole (though my wayward driver cost me a triple bogey here). With so many other memorable holes—like 5, 8, 10, 11, 17, and 18—this track ranks very high on my list of South Florida courses.

This course was newly redone and it is a wonderful course. It is not extremely difficult but is interesting. The staff is good and everything is good except the 90 degree rule. It does help keep the course looking good but is very annoying.

How can you not like a course that has a hole designed with Marilyn Monroe in mind and is named after her? This challenging private layout is made up of a series of elevated tees, mounds, traps and undulating greens. Generous fairways are bordered by lots of water. Every hole offers 8 different tees.
One Par 4 hole has a landing area lined by two 25-ft mountains. Quite unique to florida. A real test of golf.
