Great track
First time playing here, all around great course, no hidden dangers everything right there in front of you,, proper length as well, ready to go back now with a little course knowledge
First time , Horrible greens
the coarse was in good shape . very nice layout. But they sanded the greens 30 minutes before we played . Made for a terrible day . No warning when I booked. The greens were so bad on some holes you could not get to the cup in 2 puts. What made it even worse was the reviews were so good I couldn't wait to play.
Staff are Liars
Be careful. Staff will lie to you to get you to come here and then you’ll find out the course has been sanded. They say it’s still able to put on it but have u tried putting on the beach. That’s what it’s like. Called in advance to make sure it wasn’t like this and they said nothings been done. I get here and it’s beach season. I was just here last week practicing everyday and not once did they put too dressing (sand) on it like they said they do weekly. Awful staff!
Excellent condition
Great course, excellent condition, greens were great, really enjoyed it. It was a very windy day, so it made the course more challenging than it should have been.
Sanded greens
Would have been 5 stars except for the sanded greens. Other than that great round.
Winston Trails
Winston Trails is a very nice layout. I find it very challenging. In the middle of a hot day it was a nice round. The sale of range balls are $16.00 a medium bucket. I only wanted a small bucket to warm up and will not sell one. Also there is water at the start of whole 1 with ice. and water buckets at hole 9 but there is no drinkable water any where else on the course, very tough when it is 95 degrees in the summer. I still like the course and will play again.
Nice course but don’t book unless hot deal rate
The course is in good condition with numerous amenities but the 10th isn’t actually marked and you end up driving your cart through the parking lot yet at the same time they don’t allow carts in the parking lot even if you finished and unloading your back etc. and happen to be handicapped
1st time a Winston
Enjoyed playing Winston Field, course was in great shape, fairways were manicured nicely with a little bit of a second cut and greens were pristine and true…some bunkers play more like fairway sand trap, lite sand it some but not all
Staff was professional and accommodating, will definitely be playing there again
Winston Trails
I have been playing this course for many many years and it’s in the best condition I can remember. Only negative is food and water availability.
A pretty good public course
The course to me was pretty surprising. From the tips its over 7000 yds and if the course was well manicured, could host quite the competitive tournament. But for what it is, I was rather happy with winston trails. It is definitely a course that presents a challenge to a high handicapper golfer. Drives over water, undulating greens, and bunkers and rough in certain places that will challenge even some skilled golfers. For a $79 dollar round during the end of high season, its worth the money.
