South at Fountains Country Club
About
Located in Lake Worth, Fountains Country Club is part of a gated golf community. The club boasts three different 18-hole championship courses called the South, West, and North. In the 1970s, Robert Von Hagge and Bruce Devlin collaborated to design all three courses. They all have a classic design that showcases the traditions of Florida golf but each has a unique character and set of challenges. All of the golf courses have plenty of water but the South Course has water on nearly every hole. The course is mostly flat and wide-open but there is some subtle mounding as well as strategic bunkering to provide some challenges. It is a gentle enough layout for beginners though and there are also five sets of tees to make it even more accommodating.

Great value, exactly what you want in Florida
We played here on a whim on a Sunday afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The water and ice on the course made up for recently aerated greens. Would return if we visit again.
Enjoyable before, during, and after the round.
Complimentary range balls before the round! Very nice layout, and well conditioned course. And "The Pub" after the round was excellent (good food & excellent server). I played as a guest...it is a nice club with all the amenities- relaxed atmosphere- not like some seemingly uptight private clubs.
Hole in One
Course was in great condition and I had a hole in one on West 16 from 158 yds.
Nice Layout
Enjoyed the nice driving range with good balls. Staff friendly. Good mixture of water & sand.
Lightning fast greens
Course in great condition....lots of driving between holes...definitely NOT a walking course.....the greens are lightning fast....like in the 11 range....beautiful course and lots of refreshment stations and rest rooms on course
West course
The course was in great shape
Weather was perfect
Can't wait to play it again
Private Attitude, Public Experience
Booked Fountains Country Club as a “member for a day” through GolfNow and was seriously disappointed. The staff acted more like shirt-tuck police than hosts, even driving out to us on the third or fourth hole to call out an untucked shirt. I’ve played plenty of true high-end private clubs and have never been harassed like that. This would be easier to swallow if the facility matched the attitude, but it’s low-budget, outdated, and requires long drives between holes with a pretty poor overall setup. The only reason this gets 2 stars is the course itself, which was actually in decent shape and plays like a solid 4.5 , unfortunately the staff, amenities, and overall experience are closer to a 2.
Surprised
New in town I was surprised that you could play the Fountains course as a member for the day.It well worth the cost the course was in great condition
