Atlantic National Golf Club
About
Formerly known as Grand Lacuna Golf Club, this par-71 championship course now goes by the name Atlantic National Golf Club. Designed in the late 1980s by Joe Lee, the course was designated one of the 50 best public courses in Florida. The challenging layout has plenty of variety that will require all different types of shots. Golfers will find that they need to use every club in their bag. Water hazards come into play on several holes but the strategically placed bunkers that lurk along the greensides and fairways are particularly tricky. There are some tough holes but it is an accommodating layout for all skill levels, especially since it has four diverse sets of tees. In addition to the golf course, Atlantic National offers a grass driving range, two putting greens, and a chipping area with a practice bunker.

A great afternoon at a fun course Photo submitted by kengeniusz on 02/23/2013
Another Good Day at Atlantic National
Really enjoy this course. It's in great shape and challenging in a fun way. Course played on the slow side, only complaint
Only thing missing is a clubhouse
Great course, great condition.
Upon arriving at the course, I was greeted by a nice man who put my bag on the cart for me. On entering the golf shop, I was greeted nicely and had my ticket in hand quickly. I was late getting there for my tee time due to traffic and the starter was able to fit me in with another single. All staff at the course was very friendly and accommodating. The course design is nice condition. Conditions were good and the pace of play was good. The only downfall in my opinion is that the course is built around housing developments so you are constantly in someone’s backyard even though it doesn’t come into play. I prefer having less housing around the golf course and more wooded areas to get away from communities.
A great golf experience
I've played Atlantic National in the past. It's one of the most expensive courses in the Lake Worth, West Palm Beach area but it's worth it every once in a while. The course is always in great shape. They are currently working on a couple tee boxes. The staff is always welcoming and friendly. It is definitely a first class semi-private course. I would recommend this course to friends or family looking for a great golf experience.
Good golf
This course was in great shape. Quite challenging with plenty of water. Started, rangers, golf cart staff and pro shop personnel were wonderful. Restaurant staff not so wonderful. Would recommend this course for the golf but not so the amenities. No showers and maybe doing renovations on other areas.
Staff ruined this round
It’s a shame that a course which would have been great to play was ruined by some power hungry Marshall's and careless staff. Marshals telling us to speed up pace of play whilst simultaneously driving carts by us on the tee, driving straight down the fairway as we’re trying to tee off, driving back down the same hole as we’re hitting up, stopping us every second hole to tell us to speed up, getting 3 visits on a single hole from multiple marshals, having a grounds worker drive over our golf ball on the fairway and it almost kill us as it shot out of the lawnmower - and to top it all off we were just given a business card of who to contact when we were finished because no one with any say or ability to rectify the situation was present. Also the guy at the gate as you enter was insanely rude. Quite literally the worst golf experience we’ve ever had and we are all members of great courses, some of us who have worked in the golf industry including a club head pro who are all super understanding of rules and etiquette. We finished our round in 4 hours despite all of these interruptions and were constantly told we were being too slow when we had no one behind us the entire round.
Rude manager
Jeff was completely unreasonable to deal with regarding our round that was rained out. Only got in 5 holes before they shut the course down and he did not offer any discount for the full round we paid for. Terrible experience and only getting 5 holes for the cost of 18 is theft. Won’t be returning
Solid course, terrible staff
Decent course but really didn’t appreciate the staff. If there is any chance of rain, stay away from this course. They will happily take your money and run if you can’t play through the rain or commit to a 60-day rain check (even if you’re out of state)
1st time
1st time here. Course was in good condition - despite our drought conditions. People that checked us in (pro shop and starter) were very friendly.
