About
Callahan Golf Links in Waleska possesses a rich history of more than 150 years of farming and family ownership. Before being converted into a golf course, the site functioned as a farm from the Civil War until World War II. When creating the course, the natural beauty of the landscape was carefully preserved. As its name would suggest, the layout is a true links design with carefully placed pot bunkers and thick cuts of rough. Water is barely present but there are plenty of other challenges throughout that will quickly make you forget that fact. It is gentle enough for beginners but the back tees will challenge more experienced players. Golfers can also work on their short game on the chipping and putting greens or warm up on the driving range. The affordable rates make Callahan Golf Links an excellent value.

Raining the night before and during the day today!
I called 5 times during the morning before my T time. No one answered the phone to let me know if the course was open. I checked the web site. Nothing mentioned. I received two emails from other course this morning letting me know they were closed. Customer service should be important. I'm very disappointed.
Played with my wife today, course is in good shape, booking a hot deal during the week is the way to go.
GOOD COURSE
Very friendly easy going course. They keep it in good shape. Some holes are challenging. Some are straight forward fun. Some keep me frustrated. But I always enjoy it.
Solid course
Played yesterday (Sunday afternoon) on a beautiful day. Course had been aerated about 5 days prior so the greens were bumpy/slow but that's to be expected. Not a huge fan of the first 4 holes (#1 is terrible) but the design is much better after that. Conditioning of the course is solid outside of a few tee boxes. The only other complaint I have is the range balls.. they are literally the worst I've ever seen at any golf course and should have been replaced years ago. Any well struck shot on the range flies "wonky" due to this so practice is pretty much a joke. PLEASE spend a few $ and replace them!
Aside from your first comments of the first 4 holes. I will address the range balls. We just bought 10,000 range balls that were used but in really good condition. Within the first week. Approximately 3,000 balls were missing. So, the rules have changed in the golf industry. We are trying to offer golf at a reasonable price. Unfortunately, that comes at a cost.
Decent Course
The course was in decent shape. The greens were surprisingly slow. There was a group ahead of us that layer REALLY slow but that’s a public course for you.

I would recommend this course to anyone. Super fun. Great staff!
Fun Track
Fun, narrow, links layout. Course is in good shape. Very dry fairways, hard, runs lots.
Great value for the money
Beautiful course going through the start of the mountains. Great value for the price. We liked it so much the first we played about a month or 2 ago and came back again.
Tried to cancel but got error message
couldn't cancel the round, kept on getting an error message.

One of my favorite local courses, staff has done great job in keeping up course conditions (had been hit or miss for awhile). Always enjoy the layout, plenty of interesting holes. Two things that could improve. Blue tees lately are playing back with the tips on too many holes. I can't play the tips, but the whites are too close, so please space them out accordingly for all skill levels. The other thing is a safety hazard. #14 tee box is always wet, and getting on and off the tee gets very slippery. The suggestion is a small set of steps to the tee box so nobody gets hurt getting back to their cart. Other than that, keep up the good work, guys!
