IMG Academy Golf Club

Play this course yearly while on vacation in Sarasota. Course is always in excellent shape. Our only issue, 230p tee time was tough to finish 18 before dusk due to slow play a few groups in front of us. Just finished b4 dusk. Course and staff are excellent. Would highly recommend.

Played yesterday, teed off late behind the IMG kids and played 18 in the dark, so pace and keeping on time could be better.

Nice layout, best greens I have seen in the area, and good overall value with my “hot deal”.

Definitely on the list to play again!

The Good - greens were in excellent shape and although a little soft from the rain the my were lightning fast which I personally like. The Bad - The course squeezed in 5 groups of walking junior golfers ahead of several groups which pushed our tee time back 15 mins-20 mins and slowed play for the first 4 holes. My son who was with me plays junior golf so I’m all for the kids but they could have sent them out after the last 3 groups. The pace picked up after that but with the delayed start and slow play by hole 6 we were 30 mins behind schedule. We were hoping to get the round in with an original 2:02 start and sunset at 6:30. On hole 16 at 6:05 we were informed that carts had to be back in by 6 and we were not allowed to finish our round!! The ranger literally sat between 17-18 and made all remaining groups stop play with 30 mins of daylight left. The course should post this on their listing and no one informed us in the pro shop at check in about the 6pm. Disappointed to say the least.

The staff was excellent in accommodating me when I arrived at the course. The course layout was exceptional and the greens were rolling at least 12/13. I understand I started in the early afternoon but the round was real slow. In fact, 4 hours after 14 holes, I could not finish knowing it would be closer to 5 plus hours to finish.

Overall great experience. Staff were great and the course was great. Played with a couple of members Ed and Paul and they were a joy to play with. Very helpful on the golf course. I will play there again through golf now.

This course is so well maintained and a very challenging outing. There are some holes where the next tee box is behind or very close to the green. We were waiting on every hole for the group in front of us, and the course was backed up as far ahead as we could see.

Played IMG for first time. Good conditions with great fast, smooth greens. I was pretty impressed with how good the greens were. The rest of the course was “good” to “very good”. Layout was fun and challenging. Would recommend.
