IMG Academy Golf Club

This course has always been a favorite whenever we visit Sarasota. It is truly in the best shape of all the courses we have played in the area hands down. Great friendly staff, from the bag drop to the beverage cart attendant. I wish the price was a little lower so that we could enjoy this course more, but based on what we’ve seen this year, you get what you pay for.

After not playing IMG for several weeks I was pleasantly surprised at the condition of the course. The fairways and tee boxes have been over seeded recently and the grass was coming in great. The grassy areas around the bunkers have a history of being very ragged but they looked as good as I’ve ever seen them. The greens are always slick and fast and that hadn’t changed. Many courses in the Sarasota/Bradenton area have holes that require very little strategy but IMG requires a variety of shots to be struck.

Lots of tee boxes for all levels of play . Tee boxes, Fairways, Greens all in good shape !

Played this course as a single with 3 young guys from Michigan. Had a great day playing a challenging and exceptionally well taken care of golf course. Greens were a lightning fast, and in great shape. Other than that I was disappointed. Restaurant was closed, halfway house was closed, driving range was closed cart service on the course was apparently available however I never saw them. Could be managed better.

Great course. Fantastic shape and fun to play. Everyone on the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The course was in good shape and moved fairly well for this time of year around 4 hours 20 minutes. There was however no cart service on a warm day where the course does not get you to the club house at the turn..

Overall I would rate it 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Was my first time playing this course. Thought the course was in very good condition. The greens were so smooth and very fast which I loved and they held shots also. There were only a few. Negatives. 1st there is very little sand in the bunkers so there very had. (Come on IMG get that beach sand In those bunkers.) The only other negative was the driving range as there having you hit off a mat. That's really not real practice you need to hit off grass.

Good overall. Very nice foursome with 3 gentlemen Seth, Steve and Lue, who were great fun. Course in good shape. Greens true and fast. Layout nice but nothing spectacular. Good value!
