Golfer Reviews
A Tough but Fair Challenge
Played the course on a really quiet Sunday afternoon as a single so I got around in less than 2.5hrs. Very few people out. The layout was challenging. Lots of elevation changes which meant that there were some odd lies. Fairways were still well maintained even though it was still early in the season. Greens well fast and will get faster. There were also some very beautiful holes up against the lake. A must play. Will come back once the season starts.
Nice course
This course is definitely challenging! I enjoyed the oar 3s. The long par 4s are tough but it pretty balanced when playing from the member tees.
Great day to be on the links....
Better be close to the hole on your approach - more than 15-20 feet is three putt waiting to happen even though the greens were aerated recently. Can’t wait for the summer. A little wet but overall a good place to play on a beautiful day.
Better staff in clubhouse
I gotta say my last experince was VERY bad! This time a nice woman met me in the clubhouse and it was a pleasant experience. She was warm and welcoming. The course was a bit soggy but I expected that with all the rain we've been having.
Late Winter Course Conditions
Being late winter, it is chilly and the fairways are not in good condition and difficult because the grass is dormant and the lies are very tight. This, and the wet ground, makes chipping very challenging. However, the greens are in very good shape and are very quick! Crystal Lake could take a lesson from Heron Bay when it comes to greens, as Heron Bay seems to always have greens superior to those at Crystal Lake throughout the year.
Terrible service
From the moment I walked to the counter the attendant decided they were going to come at me all wrong, nothing but negativity came from this man. Since I had used a free time I decided not to even play as his actions put me in a negative mindset which would ultimately effect the way I would play .
Great day
Course in great shape. Had received few inches of rain days before so a bit soggy but the greens were great xcellent and fastest I’d seen here.
Allowing a five some out on a Sunday Morning wasn't the best idea. They may have joined up themselves but it slowed down play behind them, until we skipped a hole to play through. Understandable that there was no ranger, but frustrating!
Course is nice and a variety of challenging holes. Greens are fast and tricky. Enjoyed the round
Fast greens
The course is, of course, in winter conditions. As such, the fairways are tight and in some places nearly bear. The greens, however, are in really very decent condition and they are FAST. Good opportunity to practice that putting stroke!
Scenic Views
This is a nice course as you have to shape your shots to score low. Do not get side tracked by the nice homes and the lake, the greens roll true and you are rewarded for being in the fairways. I like the long part 3 hole where you have to be long or left. The green is huge but just don't miss it. Some of the fairways are huge so you can let it rip on some par fives as they are reachable in two. The tougher holes are some par 4s. If you can hit your 4-7 irons good you are practically looking at birdie or par putts on those. Well, I had fun and will be back as I reside here in Henry County.
Heron Bay is Iconic
Heron Bay offers a tour like challenge that makes the average golfer feel as though they're in the pros playing field. I found that the course has some very difficult holes that make pars feel genuine and earned. I have played this course numerous times and find that the course is just better and better. Heron Bay should be a top pick on your reservation radar for a weekend round.
WOW! Great Experience and Just Fun
I like the layout of the course. Great staff, from the guy in the ProShop to the Cart return guy, they were friendly and professional. I recommend this course.
We love hearing about our golfers' experiences, teronzo. We're glad you enjoyed the layout and appreciate your feedback from your round with us. Thanks for choosing Heron Bay!
Good layout
I will play it again so I can get used to the greens couldn't make no puts what is a good golf course to play a Michael Carter-Williams
Thank you for your review, uleeks. We will pass along your positive experience to our team and hope you'll be back again soon to work on shaving a few strokes off with your putting!
Mike Tyson
This is not a first timers course. I’m sure it will get better if I will play the second and third time however it was very challenging with the walkers the tree lining different elevation of the greens made it a challenging course. The scenery was remarkable though.
