Palmetto Pines
We visit Cape Coral every year. I have played Palmetto over the last 6 or 7 years and I must say it has improved significantly from the first time I played. Fairways are green and healthy. The greens are nicely presented (however, just punched and sanded). The staff/management should be highly praised for their excellent efforts. Well done and keep it up 👍👍👍👍
Play this course
Here on vacation. Son and I played 18. Great course, unfortunately we’re here for only a week and have only so much time to play.
Will definitely play this course the next time I’m in the area. I have access to several of the top 50 courses in the country, I enjoyed this course!
Be watchful for course closures
The course is nice but we could only play the back nine twice to get 18 holes in since the front 9 was closed. This happens often at this course. Alerts are not always posted until you show up at the course.
Under planned maintenance
Arrived for our tee time and paid our green fee. Person in pro shop was very nice. Went out to go to first tee, and starter informed us that the front nine was closed, and we had to play the back twice. Starter was very nice, took us to the 10th tee and explained course rules. Condition on back nine were very good, smooth fast greens and nice fairways, even though we are in a drought!
So the course is undergoing turf maintenance for the next two weeks and only one nine will be available. So when making a tee time ask what nine will be closed. Course was in the best shape that I have experienced in past 4 years!!!
Fine Golfcourse
Very good course. Plenty of tee boxes for all skill levels. Very friendly staff.
Best course in the area hands down
I'm gonna say it how it is. Mostly all of the bad reviews are due to people being cheap. Welcome to SWFL. Prices are gonna be high during peak season. Apparently you've never seen Saltleaf's pricing... "Value" is only one of 6 qualities we rate on GolfNow. Don't ding the course 2 stars due to price. With that being said, as of May 1, prices have dropped.
Let's talk about the course: If you want to best course in the area (by a longshot) come here. They have put in millions (with an S) of dollars of renovations over the past 2+ years under new management. And it offer way more Value than a place like Saltleaf, Webb's, Babcock, or Heritage, especially if you live in Cape.
This is not your grandfathers Palmetto-Pine CC. The greens are challenging and immaculate. Fairways run out. Newly constructed undulations on the front and back. And the new layout makes it very challenging for a mid HCP like myself. They've removed hundreds of trees and cleared out brush from in between fairways, allowing the wind to strategically cut through the property.
Practice Stuff: If you want a professional lesson, come here. They have amazing pros who know their stuff. $100/hr. Not bad. It's the only grass range in the area - and they also have a separate practice area if you pay for the pass or are a member.
One of my goals is to get a membership here. Truly is a no brainer as a Cape resident.
Speedy greens
Second time playing the new front 9 layout.
Liked it. Been playing this track for 10yrs. Trimming the palmettos, redoing the front 9, paving the cart paths and other improvements over the years have made it more enjoyable to play here. Additionally I like it because I live about 7 minutes away. Having said that, the in season green fees are ridiculous. I will NOT play $149 to play here in season. But apparently the snowbirds do not have a problem with that. Also I think they now get
$11 for a small pail of range balls. I played here as a single last week because I got a “Hot Deal” on Golf Now. I do not mind spending when there is value. With redeeming points etc, the round cost me $70. I also have PGA Golf Pass and I plan to play PP a couple more times this summer.
As usual, the greens were quick and some of the pin placements were diabolical. I give it
3 3/4 stars.
I got hooked up with a great guy and a father/son 2som to round out our 4som. That made it even more enjoyable. Unfortunately we do not have a lot of choices here in Cape Coral.
Great Re-Design
Front 9 greens are tremendous with the re-design. Outside of the 16th green, the back plays exceptional. Overall course is what it is, Good course but not worth triple digits. Brought my 4-y/o with me for the first time, staff was incredibly friendly.
Greens were good.
A bit flat and mostly straight holes.
Staff nice.
Pace good. Would play again
Nice upgrades. Much better condition than when I last played in 2023 BUT very expensive especially considering we are now shoulder season. $328 all in for my wife and I. Way too much for what this course
Excellent condition
Course is in great shape and provides plenty of challenges.
