Tough course for the distance.
Staff was great, price was reasonable, course condition was pretty good, greens slow but in good shape, nice practice areas. Course plays a little tough if you can't hit the ball straight.
average condition
hardest part of the course is first 4 holes after that is a lot easyer
Good for a quick pactice round
Have played here some time ago, some modest changes; the greens was very slow , there was also standing water on fairways after some rain the day before.
Great Little Practice Course
Since the overseed has come in, Casselberry has become a fun little course to play. Fairly short, certainly on the back nine, it is a nice practice course especially if you like to go out and play by yourself. Greens aren't the best, but are definitely puttable. Fairways do have some grass, at least it's good if you want to take preferred lies. Tee boxes leave a bit to be desired, but all in all, this course is a definite good value course on GolfNow
Great course for the money.
Only the tee boxes need work. Fairways are good and the greens are great.
Seems to be really Improving
I know there has been talk about Casselberry closing, and the last couple times I visited a year or two ago, I found the course conditions to be pretty poor.
But goodness, it was surprisingly excellent. More green grass than probably anywhere I've played this year. At least fair green and bunker conditions. I had a great time playing there.
It's still a quirky course... the front 9 is just brutal, lots of deceptive and\or tight shots. But that is half the fun. And I made up for it on the relaxing back 9. Really love the atmosphere there, and hope to go back again many more times if the place can turn things around!
great iron course
Par 69, mostly par 4's. In the fairway course is great. What a great test for medium and short game. It certainly made me aware of my greatest weakness "short irons". Go ahead, test your short game. Also, small greens and well bunkered. I'll definately play there again.
Great value
For the fee I paid, this is a great course. Range balls quality need help!
This is a good neighborhood course that has many nice features.
I was very happy to see that a tremendous amount of much needed maintenance had been done from tee box to green in the last couple of months since the last time I played it. Much nicer than most of the more pricier courses in the vicinity. The staff makes you "feel at home!" Kudos to all at Casselberry Golf Club. I will be back soon.
The greens were amazing!
Over all it's a good course for a great price! Well worth it for a municipal course!
great day of golf
only one hole is bad if you can't shoot long no way around it
Much improved since Spring 2012
This course has improved since my last visit in Spring 2012. I was told they have a new maintenance crew. The fairways and greens were very good with green shots sticking nicely instead of rolling on concrete. I was told that news of them selling was no longer reality. I did hear from a local that they got a 3 year extension to prove viability of the business. I will be back as I do like playing this course. It's a bit short at par 69 but some holes can be very challenging hitting through the trees and it's usually a sleepy little course making it a pleasure to spend time hitting the dimpled spheroid around.
Good to see this course in playable condition!
The greens are running about an 8, a bit slow for my liking but playable. The fairways have grown in and coming back from a rough year. This is a decent practice course.
The tee's aren't even marked accordingly,
We couldn't find the tees for most of the holes, and the sprinkler systems where on while we where playing if not at the tee box they where on in the greens, wich made playing very difficult
tired old course
This course is beat up,,,weeds for fairways...variety of greens surfaces. If you get a real good price and don't have to travel far give it a go. There are some tough holes do to water on the front nine.
The new owners let this iconic course go, the pro was on site and was an embarrassment
The course is in sad shape unfortunately. I learned to play golf on this course. The owners recently tried to sell it and they let this once proud course hit bottom. I played 36 holes with a friend and the local "pro" played through us and he was a joke. I'm a 16 handicap and I played two shots better than him on each hole I watched him play as he slowed the twilight round down to a crawl. He used a range finder twice from within 35 yards and lost his ball on the par three 11th and held up three groups that he rudely played through as he continued to look for his ball to no avail. This course was built in 1946 and is a shot makers paradise when it's even in so -so condition. The staff and ownership have driven away all but the most loyal regulars. I'm done with it until they decide to get their act together
Low price equals low quality.
You get what you pay for rings true here. The owner is losing money and that is obvious by the condition of the course. The tee boxes, greens and "fairways" are all pretty bad.
That being said the employees are great and with super low prices available on Golf Now you can play 18 holes for less than the cost of a bucket of range balls.
If you want to play for under $10 this is your course. If pristine greens fairways etc are your bag then look elsewhere.
Good course for someone of my level of play
Appears that the course may be closing soon.,signs missing or so badly in shape that cant be read. Fairways good for mudding!
short course... not a par 72...great for beginners
Cant say nothing bad about the course they do a good job with what they have ... meaning layout and budget... overall good beginner course great driving range practice putting green needs massive work
