Winter Park Golf Course
About
Dating back to 1900, Winter Park Golf Course is one of the oldest golf courses in Florida. The course and clubhouse are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Despite being a nine-hole golf course, Winter Park Golf Course is not an ordinary pitch and putt. Known for its narrow, tree-lined fairways and postage stamp greens that are heavily guarded by bunkers, the golf course presents a formidable test to even the most skilled golfers. The golf course is ideal for golfers looking to sharpen their short game skills. Besides offering a challenging game, Winter Park Golf Course has extremely affordable rates that make it a great location for catching a quick round.

Greens are in rough shape
Greens are mostly sand, very bumpy and little actual grass
Winter Park 9
Got paired with 2 other people and wasnt super thrilled about that. Wish we could have been left to just us 2 playing. Course was good. Greens were in rough shape, but great deal.
Nice fun course
We played 9 and it was fun open course! Greens were little rough but they were fixing them up! Open play. The staff was very friendly and the pro shop was nice! We loved the course! We walked it and it only took 2 hrs with 4 of us hitting okay
Greens in Bad Shape
Not a lot to say other than the greens were in horrible condition. In fact, there was more sand than grass on all the greens. The only thing worse was the pace of play. I am not a super fast player, but having a 9 hole course take over 3 hours to finish is a bit on the slow side.
Lost greens
Apparently they have lost the greens to some sort of disease. There was some grass on them but not much with plenty of bare spots covered by some sort of grainy fertilizer and sand mix. Putting on this surface was essentially futile.
Love this course, but dang it needs a whole lot of work.
Just played around and this is gotta be the worst condition I’ve ever seen the course in and they’re charging more for nine than they have in the past. The greens were all sand that were painted green and tea boxes in bad shape. This is complete highway robbery for how much they wanna charge for terrible conditions. We even had a greens keeper mowing on our second approach shot. Took the flag down and all on four holes back to back as we’re about to hit.
Neighborhood course
I’d have to say one of my favorite things about this course are the people I’ve played with. It’s a true local, neighborhood course. EVERYONE I’ve ever played with have been so nice to play with and I’ve played with LPGA Pros to 10 year old kids learning their game with their dad. It’s a short but FUN course. The pace of play is always spot on. I’ve never been out for more than 2 hours and usually average 1:45-1:50. If you want a quick golf fix, without spending 4-5 hours off your day , head to this course, you won’t be disappointed .
Breezy Challenge at Winter Park 9
Wind conditions added a degree of difficulty to our round that we found challenging. Greens had just been sanded, so were slower than normal & broke less than one would expect. Staff is always professional and very customer oriented. Love the challenge of course even though it is relatively short in total distance. Will be back for sure.
WP9 always a treat
WP9 has always been a fun short course right in downtown Winter Park. The conditions were really good considering the time of year and the recent cold snap. Greens could use a little more love. Everything else was as it should be. I’m sure when spring rolls around the greens will fill in nice just like when I’ve played it before. Great value come play it. I had a quick round early Sunday morning then went to brunch on Park Ave. How perfect is that?
Great course
Great course to play. I played just under 2 hours!
Challenging Short Course!
Winter Park course is not long, but with strategically placed sand traps, challenging greens and customer oriented staff guarantees one a fun golf experience. Will be in the near future….
Best value in Orlando for winter golf
This is my 4th time in the past month playing Winter Park. The overall turf condition is what you would expect - thin in a lot of areas but still maintained by the staff. Greens are somewhat challenging to read with a number of undulations (DON'T hit it above the pin on 1!).
Tough to beat $2 Bud products after a perfect weather day of walking 9 holes and the pro shop staff are very friendly!!
Best nine Hole in Orlando
Awesome course greens are challenging and course is in great shape even with the current drought staff friendly
