Links of Lake Mary
About
Nestled in the gently rolling hills of Lake Mary Links of Lake Mary is a Ron Garl designed course. The front nine is reminiscent of a Scottish links-style course, with wide open fairways, rolling hills and deep bunkers. Watch the wind and keep it low!
Waste bunkers garnish the back and water comes into play on several holes. In a poll, GolfWeek Magazine ranked Links of Lake Mary the 14th best course in the state. Bobby Weed renovated the course in 1996. The course is located just 15 minutes from downtown Orlando and winds through beautiful lakes and wooded areas.
Hole No. 2 is rated as "most challenging in Central Florida"

Course in Trouble
From what I have seen the past few months indicate that Management has no idea what they are doing! The condition of the Greens are quickly deteriorating weeds have not been treated and they spreading fast. I see over watering some course areas while others are dry? They did replace the tees on 16 which are nice but other holes need that too. No common sense such as closing some tees for a bit to fix them up, seem intent on just letting them get worse. Back Fairways starting on 14 are terrible and no visible work being done to fix them! Even the Restaurant is bad, out of simple things and staff not helpful. This used to be a GREAT course but over the past 10 years keep seeing one step forward and two backwards, a real shame. I only play once in awhile because it is close but get aggravated after playing. Not sure who the new owner is but hire some people who know what they are doing!
Don't Play this course
I played Thursday the back side. Paid $76 for 9 holes for 2 people. We had a hard time finding just a patch of weed to roll our ball to hit. The only thing that represents this as a golf course is a flag on the green. The back side should be closed down, it is NOT playable. This course should not be open. I should have asked for my money back. I will send this review to every golf site I can possibly fi

AWFUL
I have played the Links of Lake Mary (Timacuan) a few times in the last few weeks. Today was atrocious!! Started on #10. Pin was in the middle of a sanded area, (front left), didn't bother putting. Same for #2, #3 and #4. Teed off on #5, the fairway wasn't fit for grazing cattle (no grass). Picked my ball up and drove in. Should have took pictures. Tee box on #7 had fresh sod. On the other tee boxes they had sand-bottles, which must have been some inside joke. Don't waste your money!
Improving …..
Getting better, still some rough fairways, tee boxes and greens, but getting better.
The course layout is awesome.
Needs Work
This is the third time I've played here in the last two years and this was the worst I've seen it. Greens are average and everything else is very bad. They at least had some fresh sod on the tee boxes on two of the holes, but it needs more investment in upkeep
Only good thing about this course ……
Is the length of time it took to play it - took us 3 hours because nobody plays here!
Horrible tee to green. Looks like irrigation issues - most control boxes open and under repair.
Wait a year or so.
Getting better
Course condition gets better every time I go back.
not a friendly place
My recent experiences here have left me with the impression that they don't care about my business. The course is interesting and ok to play but not great. Make sure you ask for a scorecard as there are none on the carts. They should just give you one without having to ask but that might be too much trouble. Lighten up pro shop. Golf is supposed to be fun.
Good greens
Haven’t played here in several years. They have reversed the nines, so #1 is now#10. The greens were in pretty good shape, just a little slow. The tees and fairways need work. The drought has taken a toll and management is having a tough time keeping up. Glad I got a “hot deal” price.
Unbelievable
I cannot believe they charge that much money for this course with a good conscience. Why not tell people the course is in horrible shape and drop the price , at least you know what to expect. This is getting out of hand these Golf courses charging these prices for the conditions that it's in.. Will not be back anyone soon.
Overpriced for what you get.
The greens are in good condition, but there is a lot that of construction, poor tee boxes, and dried out fairways.
The problem is that when they went private, they sold out to a corporation instead of being member owned. Now profitability is the number one motivation.
Big improvements. Very happy I played there.
This course is one of the best layouts, including one of the toughest holes in Florida. I avoided the course because of the conditions, but now everything is really changing and it’s really wonderful too. Be able to play that course again and really enjoy my round. Greens were way better than I expected and of course, from coming out of a bad place. It was far from perfect, but especially for the money, I think everyone should start playing this course and I’m certain conditions will just keep improving and we can get one of Orlando‘s best layouts in great condition again.
Weekday golfing
The price for the course and condition was a pretty good value since de tee-d off later in the day at 1:30 and paid under 50.00 with range balls. There were hardly any other players on the course so the pace was great.
Worst course I ever played
Do not play here! Sand tee boxes - limited grass. Limited fairway grass. RUDE staff, Changed date of reservation to accommodate the club then found we could have played on the date we requested - lied to us! Poor pro shop, bistro only for meals, main club house closed. TERRIBLE CONDITIONS!!!
