Links of Lake Mary
About
Nestled in the gently rolling hills of Lake Mary Links of Lake Mary is a Ron Garl designed course. The front nine is reminiscent of a Scottish links-style course, with wide open fairways, rolling hills and deep bunkers. Watch the wind and keep it low!
Waste bunkers garnish the back and water comes into play on several holes. In a poll, GolfWeek Magazine ranked Links of Lake Mary the 14th best course in the state. Bobby Weed renovated the course in 1996. The course is located just 15 minutes from downtown Orlando and winds through beautiful lakes and wooded areas.
Hole No. 2 is rated as "most challenging in Central Florida"

January conditions
80 degree day here while a foot of snow fell back home. Really good layout otger than hole #11. Greens were in very rough cindition, but recent reviews warned of that. Can see they are putting alot of work into tgem with considerable tobdressing and new growth can be seen. With a little more time and loce, this course will move way up the list for accessable courses on the north side of Orlando.
Save your money, go to Mayfair
$70+ for a tee time should come with at the minimum greens that aren’t caked in sand and roll at a 6, rocks in every bunker, standing water on the par 3 over water and greens that are cut. This had none of those. I was super excited to try the course out after the city bought it, but it’s turning into Casselberry 2.0. They improve it slightly for a month and then don’t care once their tee sheet fills up. Money hungry owners with no understanding of customer retention. DO NOT PLAY THIS COURSE FOR MORE THAN $25.
This course lost its mojo.
Do yourself a favor and skip this course if it is more then $40. They think that $72 for over sanded greens, patchy fairways and unkept bunkers is par for the course with all the other courses around. The other courses are in way better shape for the price. If you have the option to play anywhere else, do it! You can thank me later. This course used to be one of the best. They have lost their way and are in no shape to think they are close to being back. Even the pro shop looks like it has been robbed, A lot more work needs to be done before you don't feel ripped off when you finish 18.
11:40 tee time on a Friday get there and no carts said they will be out in 10 min we said ok no problem didn’t get a signal cart till 1:10 and would only give half are money back when we ask never in my life have I waited for carts like that and the sad part was they knew they didn’t have carts and still keep checking people in probably 5 groups behind us all wainting hours and a half for carts I started walking and told my buddy’s to pick me up when they got one was on hole 4 till they got me unreal
It’s a…golf course
It has been a while since I have played here. The clubhouse is now across the street in the old driving range shed. That should have been my first indicator of trouble.
If you are looking to get out in nature, get your steps in for the day and hit a few balls around, this is the place to go. The layout is fun, but the course itself is in rough shape. Not much grass on the fairways and the greens were totally unputtable.
I remember this course in its heyday. It is a shell of its former self. Hopefully somebody comes along and invests some money in this worthwhile layout. I’ll be watching from a distance until they do.
Great course great value
Great value for the money paid… tee boxes were nice… fairways had nice turf to hit from and greens were great ! Course has made a good effort to turn this one around ! I’ll definitely return soon!
2 o'clock on a week day, not a soul in sight and they wouldn't let me hit range balls without a collar..
Pargolf72
After many years playing here, witness changes from public and private back to public, good to bad condition, I played several times in the past couple of months as a single and was surprised to see empty parking lot. Seems like I was only one on the course. Course fairways and greens are much improved. Hope it continues.
Great course for the price
Grew up playing Timacuan in my teens. It’s been over a decade since I’ve played, and I’ve heard the course has undergone extensive work along with ownership changes. I played Saturday at noon - we ran into two groups the entire day, a solo and a duo. It was amazing being able to play at my desired pace on a weekend, and for just $40. Tee times go on sale on the course’s website for sub $40. The fairways were nice and recently had a successful re-seeding. The greens were very good, with my only complaint being the occasional sanding. There weren’t any dead patches to be found though, so that’s a huge plus given the $40 price. Good course, will be back as it continues to improve.
Needs TLC
This place used to rock. Is a 25/30 round at max. Most fairways are really good. Tee boxes and greens need love. Is still a fun layout. So for the right hotdesk price is ok to play.
Poorly Maintained
Ever since this course went “private”, the conditions have gone downhill. The layout and design of holes are some of favorites, but the conditions continue to be poor on the greens, tee boxes, and fairways. They charge like they are a premium but there are courses with infinitely better conditions for less than half the price. They also double charged us for cart fees and said it wasn’t included on the reservation made with golfnow, despite us showing it including the cart on the receipt. We didn’t have enough time to argue with them since it took over 25 mins waiting to get checked in for our time. Great course layout, but managed by clowns.
NOT Great
Confusing set up with separate pro shop to check-in at from the main club house making a long distance to walk. There are like 5 old polos on an old rack you might find at a run down Ross and a couple used clubs so don’t expect much from the “pro shop”. Over booked when we went so we were rushed to start before our actual tee time or we were going “hold everyone up”. Guy inside the pro shop was not welcoming. They charge about double what they should for the conditions and overall experience. Would not recommend this course to anyone and will not be returning.
Significantly improved course!
Been playing this course (previously Timacuan) for multiple years. It took a major beating with neglect prior to the management taking over. The course has significantly improved, greens are nearly back to original fast greens. Use the range and it's really good as well with a nice short game area including wedge and bunker practice. For the price and layout, it's well worth it to try and improve your game, not an easy layout by any means. I see within next few months will be back to the old Timacuan condition! Look forward to it...
Waste of time and money
Had an incident with a member on the course where he assaulted me, physically and threatened multiple peoples life. Not worth the $70, would have a much better time at mayfair!
Poor Management
Course still needs love. Witnessed an argument that almost turned into a physical confrontation. Tried to tell the General Manager about it and told me “I don’t care”. This place needs a new manager if they want to be great again.
Place is garbage
Place is a dump. Pro shop staff is horrendous to say the least, the only good experience was after the round with the bartenders. Course is in terrible shape and I don’t think anyone even maintains it. DO NOT WASTR YOUR TIME OR MONEY PLAYING HERE
Better than expected
Not sure why the course has a low rating. It is in good conditions and it’s a great layout.
