Cove Cay Golf Club is located along the shores of Tampa Bay, offering scenic views and abundant wildlife. Water is a prominent feature on the golf course, coming into play on 12 holes. The course is tight with narrow, tree-lined fairways and several tricky dogleg holes. In addition to all of the water hazards, there are also deep bunkers lining the greensides. At 6,000 yards, it is not a long course by any means but what it lacks in length it makes up for in shot-making challenges. Thanks to its length though, it can usually be played in under four hours. The layout features a diverse set of hazards that will require the use of every club in your bag. Cove Cay Golf Club's signature hole is the par-5 17th. This dramatic hole runs alongside the bay, making accuracy a necessity in order to reach the small peninsula green.

Nice views good track

Good course. Love the hard turning layout of many of the holes. Very scenic views on back nine. Greens in good shape. Fairways fair. Bunkers not so great. Although they had 9 minutes between tee times… still was late on my tee time and pace was slow. Staff friendly facilities for practice good. Overall recommend!

Nice views, horrible condition

Staff was friendly, nice cart girl, good service, good views of the Bay, interesting lay-out. Course conditions are horrible - is not worth bucks. Green are unputtable, fairways non-existent. Dried out. Shame. Has so much potential.

Score card

There was no course layout on the score card or even at the tee off. This made it a bit difficult to know where the hole was and what type of shot to do. There then thst, beautiful course.

Course is beautiful but needs a little help.

We enjoyed the challenge of the different holes, but the pace was extremely slow. Not sure if we experienced a bad day or if this was normal play. I expect that if we played this again it might be better but it took 4 hours to get through 10 holes. There is great potential in this course but from listening to the players in front of us there was a sense of entitlement. Not what we expected.

Fun Layout

Was a little apprehensive booking a tee time based on other reviews. Pace of play wasn't bad we finished 18 in under 4 hours. Greens were in decent shape. The rental clubs were nice enough as well. Great views on back 9.

Challenging

Tried Cove Cay for the first time recently, it has beautiful views. There is a lot of water and deep bunkers that require some skill But the most challenging was the slow pace . It took 4 hrs to get 11 holes in with back ups at every hole and golfers hitting into us frequently. This made our afternoon uncomfortable. Maybe it was a fluke or a bad day . The course would have been more enjoyable if not for that.

Don’t do it.

Kid checkin us in was a tool. 9 holes took 3 hours. Course was in rough shape . Greens were ok. Slowest course ever.
